Has anyone ever uped and moved to a different state and made a clean start? I often fantasize about uping and leaving and making a fresh start in a new city. The thought of getting rid of half the people in my life really appeals to me, the only people i would tell would be my family and a friend or three. There are complicated reasons as to why i need to eventually ditch the people in my life but boy it would be good. It would be so cool, just being able to walk away from the past and start again.

Has anybody done this or thought about doing it? Did you feel lighter?

I've done it many a time - can't seem to be in a place longer than two years. There's something so mentally re-affirming about jumping into a new situation without a safety net - forces you to actually pay attention to what's going on in your life, rather than losing yourself in routine.

I can't think of anything bad to say about shedding a place/past/personality/predicament, but then I'm a gemini and thrive on change and spontaneity - can definitely recommend the fresh start though! Have a look on the internet, find a country and a city you like and move there - it's really not that hard - work and friends and accomodation will fall into place - and my god, the feeling of actually doing it is so worthwhile - so many incredible experiences that you could never expect.

I'm getting all flustered and excited now!!! LOL - been in the same city now for seven months and i'm ready to move again - (but then hey, it's brisbane - you're australian, i'm sure you'll understand LOL)
