Your data suggests:
Little to no automatic preference between Straight People and Gay People.

The interpretation is described as 'automatic preference for Straight People' if you responded faster when Straight People and Good words were classified with the same key than when Gay People and Good words were classified with the same key. Depending on the magnitude of your result, your automatic preference may be described as 'slight', 'moderate', 'strong', or 'little to no preference'. Alternatively, you may have received the following feedback: There were too many errors to determine a result.

post your results and don't be typical. it's annoying.

see the diff between myself and many of you assholes is i don't give a fuck. it isn't what it ain't and it's more important for me to be real and discuss on a DISCUSSION forum than to troll. you might want to try it sometime.

i didn't create this test. harvard isn't some fly by night university. everyone is bound to come up with excuses as to why this or that but the proof is in the results as we all approached the test the exact same way. if we were doing something incorrect while taking it, your results would've been what? invalid. if it wasn't, why so defensive?

what do the results mean for you is the bigger question? what do the COLLECTIVE RESULTS mean with respect to race and relations in america as a whole?

anyway for myself, take my relationship with Catfish...

we're both of the opinion that all that matters is how we feel about one another, BUT there is a difference;

there's not one friend or family member that i wouldn't introduce him to. to my knowledge, not one of my people would disrespect him or me. this does not mean that everyone is like "YAY! WHITE BREAD!"

will some of them say some "real" shit on occasion? yes!

disrespectful? no.

for him though...

he has already stated that there are some members in his family he will not be introducing me to because they WOULD have clear issues with our union.

will some of them say some "real" shit on occasion? yes.

disrespectful? apparently...yes.

my bad...

go to the demonstration link. from there you will get an explanation of the test and you have to agree to continue.

what's interesting about the test is not so much the preference but how a preference for one group or the other may carry over into real life.

ie a judge who UNKNOWINGLY has a slight/moderate preference for whites. the judge may not be "racist" per se, but this preference may impact how he/she renders judgment in a case. how can one be impartial if one has an unknown/known prejudice?

ie a human resources manager who is presented with two candidates may give one or the other an edge without realizing it.

i didn't get a graphical result and don't feel like taking it again so let's go with scorp's results...

what's also important to note is that even amongst black folk, there are those who will have a preference for white. and this type of self-hatred exists in many non-white communities.

a mother/father could raise his or her child with the perception that he/she is "bad" simply by reinforcing their own prejudices in daily life.

or take race out of it, a family/society where male children are preferred, how does this knowledge/perception impact the female children? how does this impact the female child's sense of worth, value and belonging?

so i don't think having a preference for whites automatically makes one racist. i think what it does do is explain or teach us that these KNOWN/UNKNOWN prejudices will impact how we may react/overreact in a given situation. if you're not in a position of power...who cares? if you are, it could be ruinous for those to which your bias is held.

That's a good point actually.

Your Result
Your data suggest little to no automatic preference between African American and European American.

The interpretation is described as 'automatic preference for European American' if you responded faster when European American faces and Good words were classified with the same key than when African American faces and Good words were classified with the same key. Depending on the magnitude of your result, your automatic preference may be described as 'slight', 'moderate', 'strong', or 'little to no preference'. Alternatively, you may have received feedback that 'there were too many errors to determine a result'.

I guess the errors don't really mean that much then?
