"So, after what I just told you, what do say, buddy? Do you want to stay stupid and let your country go to hell in a basket? Why don't you just walk over to the set and turn it off. That's right, completely off. Go on, you can do it. Now isn't that better? Don't you feel a little better already? You've just taken the first step in deprogramming yourself. It wasn't that hard, was it? Until we speak again, try to keep it off. Now that will be a bit harder."

I do all that all the time. Emphasis on doinfg things together as a family Or friends-like going for a walk, a shopping trip, going to swim, community work.... ther eare loads of things to share with the human race. And it really brings people together more strongly.

"Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen"

Simply the best advice I have ever heard in my life go on to music section page 2 ,find the music listen to it and follow the texts..

I'll promise you that you get relaxation and nice ideas for the future with a nice smile in your face?!

I think soft programming extends beyond the TV.

All day I'm bombarded with messages on the web/ in stores/ on the radio...!!!

I have an hour commute to work in the mornings-- and I generally listen to a public radio station which has the news/ current events. Occassionally I like to check out the music stations-- and after listening to two 10 min comercial breaks/ 5 min of DJ chatting-- I think I heard about 15 min of the same songs. Did I mention my experience was completed with messages like:

"Save the Music- musical Piracy is Bad.."
"Smoking is bad"
".. and now a message from our President...."

In the past I used to ignore the commercial garabage on the radio-- but after the reading the article yesterday, I had to turn it off.

The silence was liberating.
