Quit saying that!

Why are people upset at the Jersey Shore cast, accusing them of wrongly "representing" the Italian culture?

1. If YOU allow 1 tv show filled with 7 members to skew your beliefs about an entire race of people, that's on YOU, not the cast.

2. The things those "kids" do on that show are things that people of ALL races do. So those who can see such ignorance on tv & assume that ignorance is somehow associated with Italians are really the ones who are wrongly misrepresenting their OWN culture

3. No one ever accuses black or italian people for "misrepresenting" whites when there's 100 shows on tv that broadcast young & immature white kids who live certain life style s!

4. How the Jersey Shore casts live their lives should NOT affect you or an entire race of people. And if they do, that's YOUR fault, not the cast's fault

5. Only 2 of the cast members are actually Italian, so it makes no sense to assume that a bunch of NON-italians are misrepresenting a culture that they haven't ever originated from. That's like me accusing black reality stars for misrepresenting Germans...um why would the Germans take it personal if the very people who are supposedly "misrepresenting" them aren't even German?.....

I don't understand why so many people are so offended by the show. If the VIEWERS are allowing or assuming that some 1-time reality show is somehow slandering an entire race of people, then that's on them! No one told you to watch the show & then afterwards come out saying, "Ugh, damn those italians." And if that's your response to the show, then YOU are the ignorant one, not the cast

I can see why the terms "Guido/Guidette" may offend some, but even still...it's just a tv show

There's tv shows on at this very minute that consist of people of EVERY race living out crazy/promiscious/ignorant life style s but you don't see every race taking it personal.

Those are the life style s of THAT particular cast, not an entire race. And anyone whose intelligent oughta know that

I've never seen the show, and I've not lost sleep over this fact.

lol Who says this? I doubt Italians give a flying fuck about them. Anyway unless you watch football and support Italia in international events you're not Italian 😛

There were many segments on CNN & other various news sources broadcasting why people were so against the network deciding to cast another season of the show.

Dr. Phil dedicated almost an entire show to this very topic, where he had women of Italian decent debating with non-italian women about this

The governor or New Jersey spoke out about this too

Not to mention, the blogs are going crazy about it

Granted, Jersey Shore news isn't nearly as important as all the other worldly issues going on, but rest assured, this is a topic that is highly debatable.

When I 1st heard about it, I thought the same thing...like why are people so mad about this? But when I kept seeing that big public figures were throwing in their 2 cents, I realized that it was much bigger than I thought
