Tubbs Fire - Wildfire in Sonoma County

So if you guys follow the news you will know that Northern CA is suffering through our worst State of Emergency wildfires in history. People have lost lives, family, pets, and not to mention homes, food, memories, vehicles, and the things most of us take for granted everyday. Firefighters from different parts of the world have been sent over to help fight these fires that overtook our communities early Monday morning. My neighborhood looks like a war zone, post-apocalyptic, bare, it has been reduces to nothing but black ash and rubble covering what once was a neighborhood of standing family homes.

If there is anything you can do, especially if you are not able to donate goods or money, please do. Send us prayers and good thoughts and pray that the firefighters who have been out there without breaks since Monday can get this under control and that the fire lines hold.

There are facebook pages dedicated to helping in the Tubbs Fire; be it with tracking down people's beloved family members, pets, or donating to individual causes. Please please look into them on FB and if you can help, we all need the help here.

I am safe along with my family but have lost my job, home, and pets. My mom who lived with me and is dependent of me is at my sister's now safe and sound. She was caught in the fire trying to save our cats and had to be pulled out by the PD before the walls collapsed on top of them both. My home was in the evacuation zone but I was able to go in on Monday before the streets were barricaded (due to safety, gas pipes still hadn't been shut off, some active fires still burning rampant) to verify that indeed, our whole neighborhood is gone.

I know dxp isnt a place for this sort of thing but since I have been coming here for nearly 10 years I figured Id use all my resources to get the word out and let people know we are in crisis. Sorry to be a downer.
