What do you consider inappropriate behavior

Around family members when with your S.O.?

Personally, I think it's a little weird to go as far as you would when you two are solo, when around family members.

Example- hanging all over eachother and acting like teenagers around family members. Or sexual innuendo toward your S.O.

It's not like all behavior toward the S.O. is bad or needs to be toned down, but there are just some things that should be toned down a bit, just out of respect, you know?

Anyone else have specifics on what they think is a bit too much around family?

Arguing/bickering/making a scene. In general disrupting a nice visit with petty b.s. It's a definite lack of respect thing for me.

Excessive PDA? No one in my family would even try that. My family members would relentlessly humiliate them with a slew of sarcastic and cutting remarks. They don't pull any punches.

Slobbering over each other, a little affection goes a long way.

I'm not really a prude by any means, but I just could not fathom doing half that crap in front of my family. It's a little rude and unnecessary, imo. There's a time and place.

I just can't help but wonder if it's not just me and a few others who think this way. I know of some people who have no problem with this type of thing, but it's just an odd concept for me to grasp. Personally, I couldn't behave that way because I don't want my family seeing/hearing that from me. They don't need to see that and I don't want them to! :p It kind of goes hand in hand with the idea of not really wanting to think about your parents and their sex life.... I just don't want that side of me being seen by family.

Modest PDA is one thing...

Agreed. Get that bs settled before you go visit family. If not, keep everything pleasant.
