Me: Seeing people passed away at a young age or seeing people passed away shortly after retirement. Good reminder to not delay your plans or your enjoyment because you just never know. My first trip to Japan was almost completely on impulse and decided last minute. It was also my first solo trip. I kept delaying it for the longest time due to one, waiting for the opportunity to take a month long vacation there, and two, earthquake concerns.

I agree with the death of loved ones. Also watching other family members rummage through their stuff, keep some of it, donate some of it, sell some of it, then sell off their house. Them and everything else just gone in a week's time.

It made me realize that money, possessions, power, and even control don't matter. They are all things you can't take with you. The only thing that truly matters are moments and experiences rooted in the now. That and true spiritual self growth. Everything else is just a distraction to forcefully control your personal journey.

I almost died in 2021. I was rear ended at high speed while being fully stopped in bottleneck traffic on the highway. I endured nerve damage on my neck and had issues with my lower back. After that, it took me some years to recover and I couldn't function the way I normally would; I was an athlete, and could do so many things with my body that I could no longer do anymore. After that recovery period, I never took my body or my life for granted. (I never even realized that I took those simple things for granted after being in that accident). Much time has passed, and I've learned to enjoy my life/smell the roses, instead of taking it so seriously as I once did.

Being a pallbearer at a young age for a friend whose death was imho unecessary.

True. Not everyone has the choice of experience over money though.

What changed my perspective on life is to don't engage in arguments with people. My life changed for the better and for the greater good just turn around and walk away. Sure they see me as a punk for that but I even learn to accept it and move on if that's what I gotta be. People in this world ain't worth it.

In most cases, I do agree with the disengagement. There are sometimes where you would want to speak up.

Tbh I don't either. I still have to work to buy food and pay bills and stuff. My point was more along the lines of not looking at the idea of money and possessions as the ruler of one's life. Unless someone lives completely off the land or something, one will need money to survive. Though I no longer look at money or possessions as the point of life anymore. Infact I feel many people are slaves to money till they die. Rich or poor. I use to value life by nothing other then making money. Now money is just a small aspect to the big picture of life. I feel like 99% of all humans no matter the situation have the ability to view life that way.

As a perpetuator of this type of accident, whether at fault or not, i live with this moment regularly. Brakes failed in a 12 tonne truck i was driving. Lucky for him i wasn't going too fast. Minimal injuries.

This particular event made me realized that what he said was right all along, "Take it easy."

"If you reach your number and you haven't been here, I swear to god I will slap you."

I was like, "shush. you have got one chance and you had better bring me 1"

He said, "Nope. I'm busy. (Watching phone along the way)"

I was like, "Can you just be the one who take my meds?!"

True but you know, I'm a sick old man now to be doing all that speaking up bid because for a start I'm liable to say something I may regret and even wanna throw hands things just gonna end ugly so I just try my best to not get involve at all. I think that's one of the best perspective of a life learned. That is why I don't engage and get involve with your fellow Arian here, because I just don't feel obligated to do so anymore. I just read her stuff (terrible stuff and lies) about me and just keep strolling or close out this site completely.

I understand; either way, it will impact a person. The insurance company fully covered my physio and treatment (I was not at fault in this instance). The recovery process was not only physically painful, but psychologically too.
