I have a capricorn moon, and my aqua has a virgo moon.

I'm sure on the surface a cap - aqua combination has a few issues and differences although there is compatibility, but the cap/virgo moon combination is a deeper level of the personalities and extremely compatible. So on a deeper, more meaningful level our emotional (or lack of, hahaha!) compatibility is quite strong and I know we've been able to be there for each other and have an instinctual knowledge of what to do for each other. Emotional support and understanding really does support a relationship much better than any other basis.

i think it really depends on what you're interested in. moon signs that you're not the most compatible with typically could be the most successful! its ultimately what your preference is. i'm a capricorn moon and i LOVE leo moons because they lighten up my dark mood.
for me, people that have similar emotional patterns just cause trouble.
but it is also really important to recognize what you need in a relationship! check your venus as well.
if you get along for the most part and agree on things then you should not depend on your moon sign to determine compatibility because you might find other moon signs WORK even though its unexpected!

I am an Aries moon and I can never see myself with a fire sign.

Fire moon and fire moon is a great combination.
Just doesn't last long 😢

Really? Cause I tend to be more compatible with water and earth signs than fire. I could be wrong but I don't feel that my moon is stronger than my sun or rising.

I could be gender stereotyping but I'm just repeating what I've read so many places: Many women identify more with their Moon than their Sun traits and many men are unaware or not very in touch with their Moon = emotional nature.

Interesting.. I could agree with that because I know for a fact my Aries moon is not dominant.

I don't think that's stereotyping-- it is what it is.

I've often wondered if it doesn't make sense to do "compatibility" based on Her moon and His sun.

I read somewhere that when you meet someone who has your moon sign you feel at home and completely comfortable with them. I have to agree since the only ex I sometimes think about and wished it would have worked had a Leo moon like myself. He was a Gemini and they aren't even supposed to be compatible with Pisces, but it was love at first sight and we were together for 3 years, but I swear it was like people didn't want us to last. Everything but the kitchen sink was thrown at us and we survived, but it did take it's toll and we started to argue about petty crap and we wanted different things for the future.

We tried to be friends after, but it was too hard, but I do feel like if he ever needed me no mater how many years go by, I'd be there for him. And sometimes I want to call, but the pride thing...on both our parts.

I don't feel this way about any Pisces sun signs or really anyone else.

I'm talking moon sign compatibility. Not moon vs sun.

I see a lot of relationships between people whom have opposite or square sun signs but the moon signs are either conjunct or trine.

Is there more harmony in relationships if the moon signs are compatible?

If you are in this relationship please share your sun and moon sign of yourself and your lovah. 😉

I have just now come to this conclusion! I think moon/venus sign compatibility weight more that the sun. I have a Capricorn moon and had steady relationships with a scorpio and cancer moon. But Oh my word....those damn Aries moons cause me nothing but heart ache. I am staying the HELL away from all fire moon signs.

I have a fire moon and can't do another Sag moon.
The blaz?, indifferent approach to relationships is a killer.

Hi! new to the forums, but i think this is an interesting topic!
in my experience, moon signs are important for emotional value. the way the moon affects someone is largely determined by aspects and house placements.

The composite chart of partners is really important too i think. Even if the moons are in opposing signs or elements, if they share the same house etc. it can positively or negatively aspect the relationship.

Lualibra~~

This site (astro.com) is really good for comparing charts and aspects.
Synastry was the word I was looking for!
But as far as house for example a Leo moon in the 12 th house may feel an affinity with a Pisces moon, or a 5th house Pisces witha Leo moon,
from my understanding at least! But i am no expert.
As far as composites go this section explains it really well http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_composit_e.htm

Hey Rsohlich,
Degrees definitely play a part! Your moon is solid Pisces. But, a lot also really depends on your whole chart, house placements and aspects (for example, if you have Neptune trine your moon or sun, regardless of the sign, you may find you have Pisces traits, same for being in the 12th house)
However, because you are Virgo-Pisces, your signs probably go back and forth between each other creating a balanced type of loop.
Many Virgos are also artists. There is a slight misconception that polar signs are opposites with nothing in common. In fact, polar signs are just different perspectives on similar energy.
Pisces and Virgos are both unique, psychic, artistic, intelligent, and creative. The difference is how the energy is manifested..if that makes sense?

sorry if this is a bit wordy >.

To have emotional understanding and harmony with someone the moons need to be in good aspect. I have taurus moon and lived with an aqua moon for years......totally didnt get each other ... me warm, responsive caring...him detached and aloof

The conjunction, sextile, or trine is good...the square is not good

What if the moon conjuncts the sun? Would that make it better?

Again his Leo moon conjuncts your Leo ascent.

I've got a tonne of aries moon friends- you guys are pretty neat, think its the mars energy with my sun and also the conjunct to my moon?
Otherwise water moons are usually pretty easy to get along with, if sometimes a bit caustic...
Leo moons- you big old drama queens- you are fun though!

And strangely I seem to find the fire moons appeal in a romantic sense? But I have a lot of air.

Baby astro question: What does it mean if your moon is exalted?

Yes, I have a Gemini best guy friend who has Sag moon like me and we just " get each other" I mean when we meetup it's non-stop talking one subject to another you would think we were on a date as we shut the world out. I also feel a pull to him like none other like I need to be there for him and he tells me a lot of personal things. It took me several years to figure out what kind of relationship we have, but we have never been sexual just kissedÅ  I believe he is a soul connection we are meant to add growth and awareness to each other's lives.
