Cancer moon taken but feelings for someone else?

I'd like some advice from someone that either has this placement or has had experience with this placement... Basically I was wondering if a cancer moon can be in a serious relationship but at the same time 'like' or have feelings for another person, but maybe with their partner because he/she feels more secure.

Reason I'm asking is I like this cancer moon girl (her other placements are Pisces) we've always had an attraction from afar, like staring, giggling,being sweet etc. She asked my freinds about me and personal details. But I am a very nervous shy person & I never talked to her or asked her out while she was single. Some guy unfortunately got there first and now they are in a relationship. I didn't realise this & I asked her out because I found out she would be leaving my college after this Christmas. She told me she has a boyfriend and hugged me.

Obviously I gave out a lot of mixed signals and didn't make a move for a long time and she probably gave up. But I was wondering if we can become freinds, go out, connect. Do you think I will have a shot with her in the future?

I know cancers need security & assurance and I wasn't able to provide that for her, but if I show her she can depend on me, could things change?

Yes, we can like more than one person, and yes, things can change.

No I may have done this once when I was younger, but ended it very quickly. If I have strong feelings for someone it is hard for me to let go. No one not even friends really have my full attention if I am missing someone and cant get them off my mind. I will still hang with friends but be in a daze. But I am also a Libra so if my life especially love life feels unbalanced I am out of it.
