'The Sixth Sense' by M. Night Shyamalan (stars Bruce Willis, Haley Joel Osment) Beautiful, spiritual, chilling, deep...'first-rate acting, great script..i loved the mood and pace of this film; sticks in my mind; one of favorites...
? The illusionist (great movie) ? Flyboys ? Idiocracy (funniest I've ever seen for ages) ? Children of men (I've mentioned in the other post) ? Flushed away (ok for me.. but great for the kids) ? The departed ? Red eye ? Blood diamond ? Interpreter ? Crank ? The Queen (excellent movie) at least for my taste.. ? Norbit..(unfortunately) stupid, not funny, racist, and offensive crap.

I totally agree with you on this- you can tell just from the previews that it was a total insult and waste which is why I never had a desire to go see it.
"Sphere could be a nice movie if it wasn't over shadowed by earlier (Event Horizon), same story but with the bigger names on it."
..sounds like another interesting sci-fi, however i never heard of 'Event Horizon'..LOL i looked it up on Amazon, it did get half star more. i will have to check it out sometime... But i really enjoyed the equally big names of Dustin Hoffman (the clever, slightly rebellious Dr. Goodman, whose 'not supposed to know' what the commanders know or can't see, before it's too late..) ...also Sharon Stone, Samuel L. Jackson, Queen Latifah and Peter Coyote...'whew, not too bad, catching my breathe!!)
..anyway, thanks for the info. Qbone, i never knew.. 🙂
DARK CITY - 'a nightmarish world with no sun and run by beings with telekinetic powers who seek the souls of humans, where man has no past, and humanity has no future.' From comic book hero, Alex Proyas - 'The Crow'. This dream-like film was made a full year before 'The Matrix'; a gritty surrealistic 'Sci-fi Noir. There is a definate dark/mechanical/industrial feel to the atmosphere, and creepy vocals from Kiefer Sutherland who does a bang-up job..!
A Knight's Tale - Heath Ledger (Aries Knight) A medieval story, good vs. bad/knights-in-shining-armor, jousting, danger, chivalry, romance, humor and modern day rock songs...'the mix works..! 'oh, and the soundtrack is great too, the rock music kicks it up..! Ledger is PERFECT, as a brave young knight, who jousts against the deliciously wicked and DEEPLY jealous malice, played by (Scorpion) Rufus Sewell!!!
i liked brokeback mountain, it was daring, real, unapologetic, kind of 'in your face' type of movie..'as a pisces i can't help but empathize when i see someone crying from the depths of their soul, no matter the circumstance...'and seeing a grown man cry, well to me that is the worst!.. 🙂
The Prestige - LOVED IT!! 'Michael Caine is truly a cut-above, Aquarian Christian Bale always does the perfect job playing the sordid or off-beat; great cast, multi-layerd plot, with many twists and turns..!!
Pride and Prejudice - I think it might be becoming one of those When Harry Met Sally movies for me; I could watch it over and over again and still feel just as elated by the ending of it...So few Mr. Darcy's in this world though.
American Psycho - i honestly don't think anyone could've captured Patrick Bateman's personality more flawlessly than Bale, who gives a genius, chilling performance as an arrogant, wealthy '80's Wall-Street yuppie obsessed with success, status and style , who's also a serial killer by night. Christian Bale now being one of my all-time favourite actors.. 'i loved the business card scenes, can you say perfect bone-white on nimbus--hilarious!
'White Noise' - creepy, suspenseful movie about EVP, or Electronic Voice Phenomenon; class- act pro Michael Keaton, gives yet another excellent performance. A chilling what if...
Wishmaster 2 ~ (be careful what you wish for) The evil Djinn (Andrew Divoff) is awakened once more, and must collect 1001 souls to begin the Apocalypse. Every wish is granted in the most literal of terms, leaving the recipients victims of their own greed and desire; like WM1, some pretty amazing effects for this /97 Wes Craven horror classic!
The 24th Day ~Tom (Scott Speedman-virgo) and Dan (James Marsden-virgo)
Deep, intense, hypnotic thriller/chiller about an openly gay guy, who's past comes back to haunt him, in a way he could never have imagined. Held captive and at the mercy of a bitter one night stand. Will his own frantic/confused lies set him free or keep him helplessly bound in the angry chains of his revengeful captor??
Two awesome Virgo actor's going at it full-speed!! One of the best, well-written/play-based pieces of film making.. 'and unlike many films, this one makes you think well past the closing credits.
War of the Worlds - (Steven Spielberg - fav director) effects and sound in this film are awesome!!! A great adaptation of H. G. Wells' novel. i noticed the 3 major characters in the movie were all water-signs (forming a collective trine) -Tom Cruise (Cancer) Dakota Fanning (Pisces) Justin Chatwin (Scorpio) -at more than one point in the movie they were all screaming at each other, but who could blame them, those ALIENS!..LOL*
*Jeeper Creepers* - very creepy and almost as good as the second one.. *make-up/costume on the beast/villian great as usual! *Derry was my fav character - what an outstanding range of emotions.
although i never knew it was against the law to film or (take pictures?) of crows in the USA .. 'i wonder why?' ..so the crew had to important a special kind of african species and die parts of their feathers black..
"Mr. Brooks" ~ engrossing psychological thriller. One of Costner's better perfomances! Intelligent, plausible, yet very terrifying. His character kind of reminded me of the equally creepy Robin Williams in 'One Hour Photo' ..lol
Mystic River - Loved it, very intense -- very moving! Sean Penn was amazing, and you really felt for him and his loss. One of his VERY BEST performances!
VACANCY -2007 ..great under-rated thriller, & wayyyy scarier than i thought ..the plot, setting, people were very realistic and believable, though not quite as complex or long as "Room 1408". (i only wish the ending were drawn out just a bit more..)
Tagline: How can you escape...if they can see everything? (:moral of the story, do not take short-cuts off the interstate, it ain't worth it!..lol)
=TROY= I never tire of this one ..Fire sign sag Brad Pitt, was perfect as the iconic Archilles. He was a true free spirit among warriors..! Actually exceeded my expectations and imo, a much better, more believable lead than that of Colin Farrel in 'Alexander.' ..although that movie too was visually stunning! ..since Titanic, it's nice to see the bigger epics back..
i really liked this movies, yeah i admit it was wierd and freaky at times but i think its one of those movies in which you have to look beyond the voilence and nudity to actually know what the movie is about, the book was very different to the movie, one
For me it's got to be "300", a historical epic, loosley based on the battle of Thermopylae, possibly the coolest event in human history, in which 300 Spartans(the most kickass culture this world has ever seen)+allies fight against an army of half a millio
has anyone here seen the film Hidalgo??, apparantly the film was a flop but i loved it, i especially liked Silas Carson the guy who played Kitab (the bad guy) whoaaa he is hot, so good looking hehe. Also i cant seem to find much information about Silas Ca
I saw this today. It was ok- I actually enjoyed the fight scences better than the love story, lol- I'm not much into violence but these were good- and a new hottie for me to look out for- James Franco- he's an Aries by the way. I didn't find him attractiv
Okay so there is this new blond guy who's playing James Bond. I am a super SUPER James Bond fan and I don't know about this new guy...I mean he's English but a blond James Bond—
Pierce Brosnan was my favorite followed VERY closey by Sean Conne
Beautiful, spiritual, chilling, deep...'first-rate acting, great script..i loved the mood and pace of this film; sticks in my mind; one of favorites...
