So, let's say a man is gay, for example ... which means he likes boys.

So, why then does he want a man that looks like a girl?

Fuck if I know.

What's up with dykes, then?

If a lesbian wants a female, then doesn't this mean that she actually LIKES female attributes? So, why then be with a Butch, who looks and acts like a man?

People are all bi, it seems, even when they think they are gay.

p-angel ive always wondered the same thing....I see gay couples and you can always tell whos the dominated one......

It does make one wonder, doesn't it?

And to think of it this full circle really boggles my mind ... a person will try to look/act like the opposite sex. Why? Because I guess they feel like a m/f trapped in the wrong body. OK, they are really the opposite gender. Now a gay person partners with them and this person is really partnering with someone who is the opposite sex inside = which means their heart isn't gay at all, it's just gendered wrong.

Example:

Man was born in wrong body, so dresses/acts like woman
Another man partners with him, thinking he is male
When really, man #1 is a female inside
So, man #2 was actually attracted (emotionally) to a female

here's one

Why is it that most feminists aren't very feminine?

I don't find that to be true. Pick out any group of women and you'll surely find non-feminine ones there too. It's just that you're stuck with this discriminatory image in your head that feminists are ugly, that's why you only see the ugly ones. I've seen many attractive women involved with feminism.

However I think you may be talking about the lesbian feminists because most 100% lesbians I've come across have been extremly masculine. I'm talking the worst butt-scratching type of masculinity that's not even acceptable among men. Don't know what all that is about...

Well, when I first entered college. I met two lesbians. One had never been w/a man, and the other had. They were in their late 20's at the time, and both were DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. One was brunette w/blue eyes, the other was blonde w/hazelicious eyes. They were both smart, eductated and dressed very much like women (lipstick lesbians is the common term now I guess). Anyway, while they were both VERY feminine, there was definitely a distinction between which one was the more dominant. I used to love to go out with them and watch them freak all the guys out when they would kiss or hug. Men were blown away because they just couldn't understand how these two lovely creatures didn't want a man! 🙂 I don't know if they were feminist though— LOL.

Dominance.

When analyzing this, we find out that it boils down to roles ... as if every person needs to have a designated position assigned to them as it's relative to effect relating. And what I really find curious, moreso than my original question/thought of this thread is what appears to be so instinctual, that we glance over it with hardly a notice, to consider it normal.

Yet, it really isn't normal at all, is it?

Dominant role is assigned to a gender, even if the gender isn't present, someone will 'act' like one because this assigned must be in place to consider it a proper relationship. Even when the description of two lip-sticks came to our attention .. the reaction was of strange, because no Male-Dominant role was assigned.

@ dytryin "because they want to pee standing up"

sorry, I'm even more confused now, you'd think they'd embrace femininity, but instead it's like they're ashamed of it.
Maybe we just need to change their name from feminists to women who want to be everything man, but somehow still women.

I don't understand it much either, since both genders have gifts and advantages to be embraced. I mean can't people just want justice and equality because they are "human" first ..why does everything have to be labled or physically contradicted which just pulls apart further? We all have traits of both genders anyway, to a certain extent (even in astrology, some planet/sign combos are much more masc or fem than others.) I think life is about balance and survival in an increasingly homogenous/adrogynous, demanding/consumeristic society, so maybe lines are getting somewhat blurred unfortunately thru cause & effect; some just take it to the max. much more for whatever reason..lol

..btw, what do they call men who seek equality & justice via gender? "menonists?" ..i guess it can work both ways..lol

Fuck if they know either, LOL. One of my horse buddies has a gay brother... also a horseman. I asked the gay brother one time why at those gay pride marches, so many gay men dressed up like females... he said "hell if I know", lol. I can only imagine that the Kinsey scale might shed some light on the subject:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale<BR>
It's not as simple as Gay or Straight... there's a grey area in-between totally gay, and totally straight. There are a lot more bi-sexuals than either straight or gay people like to admit.

Homosexuals are the product of heterosexual unions, and even though their sex drive is directed towards the same gender, they still have that inclination to mimic the heterosexual roles; so, yes, one often sees a more dominant / traditional male personality in one partner more than the other...

That's one characteristic of homosexuality that actually makes sense.

I agree with Dy on the "mimicking" what you are used to, what society drums into you from birth about heterosexual roles.

My best friend of over 20 years is a Sag woman, and she's a (lipstick) lesbian. I feel she was ALWAYS a lesbian, but her straight-laced religious parents and upbringing forced her to push it down. She went from man to man to man, really wild and promiscuous in her late teens and early twenties. She was trying SO hard. TOO hard. She married a very nice (but spineless) Cancer man. Their marriage was sucktastic from the start, and SHE had to be the dominant one because HE wouldn't, but they stuck it out. Until friends of mine visited me over Christmas one year, a lesbian couple I hadn't seen since I left CA and moved back home to MI. My Sag BFF met them, and fell in love with the BUTCH one - the one who looked like a MAN with HUGE tits, BUT was actually the more submissive one. Long story shirt, my Sag BFF divorced her Cancer hubby and moved to CA, where it was an interesting love triangle for awhile, and the girly looking dominant one left, leaving the BUTCH and the Sag together for several years. (It was doomed always though - the butch was a Pisces. Sag and Pisces simply do not mix well romantically! She just thought it would work because she admired so many things in ME, her Pisces BFF!) She went on to another butch for several years, which failed due to infidelity.

Now my Sag BFF is with yet another Butch, ANOTHER "man with tits", a butch dyke lesbian who prefers to be called a HE.. though "he" JUST recently got his surgery to have them removed, and they are both ecstatic with the results. All he needs now is a penis -- though they make replicas that can do the job fairly well now LOL He has the physical looks of a man, emotions of a woman. Needed a physical woman with the emotions of a man!

So my Sag BFF was born a lesbian, fought it, tried to be hetero, couldn't, has ONLY been with women since discovering this about herself, BUT.. she's generally the dominant

Oh, P.S. on the lesbians using dildos... doesn't happen as often as you think, really. True lesbians who aren't attracted to dick in any way, shape, or form don't feel the need for them, obviously! (I've met at least TWO lesbians who were over 30 AND still technically virgins in that their hymens are intact - they don't dig men, and they don't dig penetration! ALL outside clitoral stimulation for them, thankyouverymuch, and don't even stick a finger in me!)

However, a lot of lesbians have dabbled in or tried to be hetero at some point. Some like the feeling of penetration once in awhile. This is where dildos come in handy, if they're wanting more than a tongue or finger(s).. but NOT wanting a MAN involved! So it really depends on the lesbian (or hell, straight girls too!) on whether they prefer penetration or clitoral stimulation, or if they like both!

Ever wondered why lesbians so often use artificial insemination when trying to conceive, when to US, it just seems easier (and cheaper) to just BOINK the guy and get pregnant? Well, they don't want the MAN, and they're willing to PAY to choose the looks, intelligence, etc they would like in their child, but keep the man OUT of it, and to screen said sperm donor for diseases, defects, etc etc.
