I've lost a lot of reasons I used to hold onto for answering my phone, or replying to emails. If that's what you mean. Mainly work related things, but personal also. I think it may just be focus... or getting older. I prefer to call it focus for now.

haha. ok. focus has a positive vibe. 🙂

i was referring to communication of a more private nature ..... it's kind of difficult. when i read some stuff i just roll my eyes and think "seriously?!" wtf are you talking about...a lot of meaning gets lost between the lines. or totally taken out of context.....i scrolled into my PM history on FB with said ex....and i was taken aback - over nearly 5000 exchanged pm??s and still - this walk on coals.

Ay, I had to learn this lesson too, Quantity never equates to Quality.

No matter the amount of words exchanged, or written, or conveyed, or shared...it really becomes nothing if the two are not on the same plain of understanding, also just as easy to take out of context as well, misunderstandings galore.

Sometimes I look back and wonder, was it a waste of time? did it really happen? and what meanings were there in the exchange?

Can't we stick to good ol' writing with feathered pen and paper, like back in the days, where actual proper thought had to be expelled unto what one was about to write and send.

Le sigh indeed.

Oh I see what you mean. Yeah, all these increased options with which to communicate and nothing really ever gets said - or diluted! I deleted all my messages of that nature. For me, it's good to let it go.

When it's crunch time or a moment of truth, make or break, I try and take a step back and let time pass because it often helps to distill all the thoughts into the one thing left to say that you really want to say (or not).

indeed...nothing of substance is really said....it's like a long foreplay until one eventually makes the leap....🙂

i like that: crunch time.

my next message will def. have a beginning, a middle part and an ending.

thanks tiz 🙂

Increased option- ie. the wider net, the internet as we know it, has compressed the world into the palm of our hands, at a single touch and we could be anywhere.

To have so many sources of contact these days in the modern world, mobile, tablets, laptops and so forth, does it do more harm than good by bringing so many people easily together?

On some days, it is more like a hassle to respond other times it is almost enlightening the amount of individuals one could meet and converse with, a great way to keep in touch with those who are not in the same time zone as well.

But all these words, how does one make them meaningful, or rather how could they at once be of such importance yet as time passes they could mean nothing at all. Do we let go of everything that once occurred and let it exist in the past or do we cherish those memories as motivational force to create the future?

If we're lucky we get to meet as many as 7 people in this lifetime. That's a full life. That's what I believe. There is not enough time be conquering the ego and be able to open our eyes up to anymore than 7 different voices or points of view.

Unfortunately William Shakespeare is not a Pisces so his Seven Stages of Man would be hijacking this thread. But I just thought I'd share that belief.

Yet, more than 7 people could share the same point of view/views, so where does one go from there? Also, life is about fluidity, individuals come and go, therefore how does this full life come to fulfill itself and such things as timing and circumstances may come into its way, expelling its forces in our pathways of life.

Hijack away, it already is 🙂

Jobs was amazing. And I love the way he put this: "I think death is the most wonderful invention of life. It purges the system of these old models that are obsolete."

Such a Scorpionic idea, life is but a constant purge of old ideas, old memories, old experiences and old paradigms...all in which to allow us to push forth breaking and creating new boundaries to contain what exists of thy self.

That we should have no fear of losing? I remember Achilles said something similar in Troy about the gods envying us because we are mortal.

Lose in what sense?

To lose in battle or to lose a part of who we are or to lose what we had known/comfort or to lose objects/individuals that are linked to us?

It is to my belief that mortals and gods a like, both have a very heavy price to pay for the 'way' they are. Immortality and mortality does not give neither the upper hand, for we are both at lost and at gain, it is how we make use of what we have to empower who we are that changes the perspectives of how we see it, no?

Most things die after 7 years, you Scorpionic lady you. Each and every molecule in our body will have replaced itself in a 7 year period. Which is why private equity firms launch MBOS on a 5-7 year management basis. Or maybe I just pulled the number out of thin air 😛

Thin air seems more appropriate 😛

Though those thoughts, all of them come flitting pass my mind any time, any day, water your see, contained but not at once, fluidity. Ay, a walking contradiction here 🙂

My body is an exception, Scorpionics you see, it regenerates itself whenever I should choose it to, be it in a day or an eternity or a decade...hmm. This personal equity firm runs on her own basis, managed by none other than herself!

That's generally how most firms work to be fair. It's just they walk into the board of the company they're buying out and say "hey, relax buddy... we're here for you. Have questions? Here's some more money. Stop asking"

I gather such behaviour is above a Lady.

That is the word of business, it is not meant to be nice, it is harsh, cold, emotionless, blunt and cruel but sometimes that is one way to make money, ruthlessness, fairness? I laugh, nothing is ever fair, money is fair in such circumstances, using buying out anything and anyone to get things done.

Now, I would never consider myself above it all, I could see how such tactics come to use in one's career, breaking glass roofs one after another, a Lady simply does it in a way that is more 'acceptable', red pill disguised as a blue one, or one that is sugar coated but nonetheless, it remains the same.
