"There is an interesting moral in Harry's story about Pisces. For one thing, it shows how much power this 'powerless' sign can wield. For another thing, it shows how much power Pisces often wants. Outward passivity is a dangerous animal, since the will has to go someplace. And every so often you see it break out, and encounter strange Pisceans like Attaturk and Julius Caesar, who, unlimited as always, must conquer the world.

Many Pisceans have this kind of secret fantasy. Feeling as though they are the most powerless of mortals, they secretly envision themselves as rulers over all. It's understandable enough. It's troublesome and even dangerous if it goes unnoticed and unchecked. Attaturk, when he took over the rulership of Turkey in 1930, massacred an entire nation of Armenians who stood in his path. This kind of universal emperor, who sees fit to wipe out masses of people, is the opposite extreme to the Christian eaten by the lion in the arena. Sometimes the roles reverse, and the lion is actually the Christian.

If a sensitive Pisces is brutalized enough - and they often are, for people tend to see in them the reflections of their own feared weaknesses and vulnerability - then he may turn to cruelty for an outlet. This is a perplexing quality in some Pisceans which is never discussed in textbooks, for the simple reason that it is too disturbing ..."

"But a too passive Pisces is a dangerous creature. The dark fish is bound to break out sooner or later, either in a genuine psychosis, or in self-destruction - whether quick or the slow kind like drug addiction or alcoholism - or in subtle, unnoticed destruction of another, like Harry's wife in The Iceman Cometh. It's rarely overt; unless that Pisces has a more aggressive ascendant like Aries or Leo, or a strong Mars, it's all under the surface, for Pisces is a genius at undercurrents."

Greene sums the Pisces shadow up masterfully here. This is HARDLY EVER mentioned when astrologers discuss Pisces! As a young Pisces woman, I find myself increasingly hardening my emotions towards any people who I perceive as manipulating me/walking all over me/slighting me. I even go so far as to play mind games with them to show them that I can hurt them and fuck with them, just I perceive them to be doing to me. I am SO SICK of so many people assuming they can take advantage of me because I'm a kind and giving individual at heart. I approach them with no selfish or ulterior motives, and they feel compelled to piss on a good thing and try to use me and/or manipulate me.

I see straight through this kind of bullshit and it sends me into a rage. This violates my ethical code and I feel the need to "punish" these individuals by giving them a taste of their own medicine. I wouldn't quite call it revenge, because I don't try to overtly get back at them, but I guess you can say that I "play" natural circumstances in my life to my advantage so that I gain the upper hand over these people (and appear to be beating them). Making these people feel inferior to me in some sort of way quenches my thirst for justice. As I experience the uglier side of human nature, I turn to gaining power over negative people as a means of validating my sense of justice. I find myself seeking this power more and more, as I'm becoming increasingly adept at reading in between the lines of people's motives and at identifying hurtful individuals... Or is this all in my head?

This is incredibly disturbing, but I feel it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY - After all, if I don't show these people that I'm not one to be tread upon, then who will? It sounds like the astrological contradiction of the century, but I am a Pisces who lusts voraciously after power - What about you other fishes out there? Am I sick, or am I justified?

Interestingly enough, I have a Leo ascendant ...

I'm a Leo ascendant as well, and feel the same way 😉 .Your not crazy. Pisces people in general are good at reading others, we know when someone's trying to minipulate us, get one over on us ect .... I'm tired of reading generalizations of our sign being "weak" and "naive". It's bs. I let no one use me as a door mat, and there is nothing wrong with punishing, or wanting to punish someone who has, or thinks they can. I'd never attack an innocent person, I don't fantasize world domination, but if it were handed to me, I'd take it! ....and rid my enemies, should I make them 😉

I LOVE being a Pisces and I do tend to feel like I am more special at times b/c of my intuitiveness and ability to see things in others. I know that is being ridiculous b/c all signs/people have their special qualities. I used to let people walk over me like a doormat at times (especially guys) but as I have grown and matured and come into knowing who I really am that doesn't happen anymore! I stand up for myself and don't take nonsense from people or stay friends with those who drain or use me. I usually can see through people's motives and if they are impure then I don't go along with them. I do want power but not in such a way that I would hurt others to get it or keep it. I love to have harmony and would rather help people along the way to the power as others help me. I think Pisces Rock but I do know we have our dark side and that people should be wary about that as well as we should and we do have to watch ourselves so we don't get overtaken by our dark side in ways of addictions, obsessions, lusts, etc.
Gotta love the Pisces people though! We probably wouldn't have near as many people in the healthcare and humanitarian fields without them!!!!
Much love to my Pisces brothers and sisters on here and everywhere.....lol.

thanks for sharing your story!

do you really think pisceans are weak?

one of our emblematic plants, the water lily, has beautiful delicate flowers on the outside, but have you ever tried to pull one out by the root? it's very resilient.

water endures. in yielding, there is strength. drop a stone in the water, and the water gives way, soon enough finding tranquility again.

i hear what you are saying; not all people are so caring as you or i may be, and may be (as hard as it is for us to believe) manipulative in their intentions, but the key in my opinion, is to see how you are a co-creator of any situation and relationship you are in, and to see how it is a reflection of yourself in some way, and how you can Empower yourself so that you set clear, healthy, firm boundaries. this is a lesson for us all, especially with Saturn having just entered Libra.

you like to help others, but you must take care of yourself first!

wishing you peaceful resolutions and harmonious relations,

j.

Yeah, I should make it clear that I'll never set out to intentionally hurt someone who hasn't done anything to offend me. I also try to take into consideration that I might perceive offenses that may or may not be there, since I'm so sensitive - But honestly, as time has gone by, I've learned to trust my gut reactions to things, and when I see a huge red STOP sign in my mind's eye, I've learned to heed it. It's only when I feel like a person repeatedly uses or abuses me, that I start playing power games with the person. Even if they are guilty as charged, I won't set out with the sole intent of hurting them (like Scorpionic revenge). I work with the circumstances in my life and actually wield them as they are given to me so that it leads these offenders to see the error of their ways, and thus, to my obtaining the upper hand in power over them... It sounds elaborate, but this is basically a fancy way of putting the saying "Living well is the best revenge" into action.

I have to admit, the best thing about being a Pisces is the fact that no one usually suspects us of the power we are capable wielding if wronged. Even when we stand up for ourselves, people still don't take us seriously (which can be maddening), but this works as a terrific disguise. We have the ability to slip under people's radar because they see us as nothing but sweet and acquiescent - More so than any other sign, I believe that Pisces is the MOST capable of getting way with murder, because people often seen us as weak or passive. For the most part, we don't set out with negative intent and we treat every person as though he or she is innocent until proven guilty, but if repetitively abused, we will morph from sweet little goldfish into great white sharks.

Pisces strength lies in their deceiving projection of weakness. Most people just tend to underestimate this sign. Infact Linda Goodman in her book of relationships mentioned when describing a Scorpio-Pisces couple that in the long run Pisces is the stronger of the two. The brief argument was that a Scorpio may win the battle but Pisces eventually ends up winning the war, which i beleive doesnt only go for scorpio but most other signs as well when dealing with Pisces. No one springs up a surprise on you better than a Pisces, not even Gemini or Aquarius. In my experience Pisces has also been one of the most passively aggressive of all signs and they play the 'hurt victim' card the best.

I agree! Sometimes we can be so good at being passive-agressive that some may not even realize we are being passive aggressive because of our superb diplomacy! I do know how to work the "hurt victim" card but I don't really use it but occasionally...lol. 😉

Yes i crave power very much , but most times i do so , cause i want to help people , especially in the chit Situation Greece has come.

Aside from that , i think many times of bringing a team together with guns and go shoot the police and goverment .... but i have to find other people with courage .[Carlos Ramirez Santzez and Tony Montana are my heroes 😄 ] ,, i believe that if i had a gun on me , and i saw 2-3 cops , i would probably shoot them right away.

And yes , i play the passive aggressive card too much , and i wait for the time to strike. People are so stupid.

People nowadays have become far more sheeps than before , they are cutting our salaries like crazy and they just protest for fun .... IT MAKES ME MAD AS FUCK.
