Well we fishies are capable of lacking total empathy. Most if not all have had some sort of traumatic experience when they were younger. There are times when I lack empathy and then realize it and think "what the heck was wrong with me" but its to a certain degree.

I totally agree with you piscesprince on everything you said. The damage is done, it reflects back.

I think there is such a thing as Dark Souls (Bin Laden and the rest of them) ...Most people who go through the worst trauma in their lives, don't resort to such morbid crimes. Siblings born in the same family, raised exactly alike from the same parents, and one goes awry. Most serial killers are not psychotic, either, (mask of sanity), and many actually seem to enjoy what they do. Spiritually-speaking, angels will not surround the DARKEST of souls..

The term "psychopath" is actually only used to define those who are born with the mental disorder in question, at least according to a documentary I saw from the late 1990's. Those who are made into psychos "by the society" are not psychopaths, they have feelings and empthy but they are capable of shutting it off when they see fit.

It's like when a man who's been subjected to sexual abuse as a child resorts to abusing children himself: a society made predator of this kind HAS feelings and is probably struggling with his conscience on an everyday basis, but he is capable to keeping his conscience seperated while doing these acts. There lies the difference between psychopaths and your average "evil-doer"...

I have sympathy for all people and animals who have feelings/emotions, and altough I don't hate psychopaths I cannot feel for them. Maybe that's how empathy works, you can only spare it to those you know can feel 'the hurt', be it psychologically or physically.

Me neither! The best thing to watch before going to sleep is 'Home Alone'.

One of the most bizarre stories is that concerning Karla Homolka and her boyfriend Paul Bernardo. Not so much because of their crimes but how it all went down.

During the summer of 1990, Bernardo became obsessed with Karla's younger sister Tammy, and told Karla that if she really loved him she would let him deflower the girl. Homolka agreed and on 23 December 1990, after a Homolka family Christmas party, Bernardo and Karla Homolka drugged Tammy Homolka with the animal tranquilizers. Bernardo and Karla Homolka raped Tammy while she was unconscious. Tammy later choked on her own vomit and died. They both got off the hook thanks to a bad autopsy-job. As far as everyone's concerned, there was noting suspicious about her death.

They sexually assaulted, tortured and murdered another two girls in a period of two years, by then there were a married couple. Eventually the authorities caught up with them. Paul was sentenced to life in prison while Karla got 12 years in prison because she cooperated with the police and was considered an unwilling accomplice to the murders.

However, videotapes of the crimes later surfaced and demonstrated that she was a more active participant than she had claimed. Following her release in 2005, she settled in the province of Quebec, where she married and gave birth to a boy. In 2007, the Canadian press received reports that she had left Canada for the Antilles with her husband, their baby and has changed her name to Leanne Teale.
