I'm always very utilitarian when giving Christmas gifts (and I like receiving gifts with some utility as well). But, I'm assuming Pisces would not be so impressed with my idealistic gift giving. I gave him a key chain a while back, he said he appreciated it, was the thought that counts but he would never use it as it wasn't something he (as a guy) would want to be seen with in public. :/ So much for my thoughtfulness.

So, do you guys have any creative ideas?

(I'm stuck on coffee mugs cause he needs 'em - I would like them if I needed them, my GF gave me some last Christmas and I liked them more than the $ 1200 bracelet my (now ex) boyfriend gave me - in fact, I left the bracelet and took the mugs when I moved out)

Pisces are supposed to be artistic, and in his own way he is. He is an up stream swimmer though. Owns his own business (2 in fact) and spends much of his time engrossed with that (14 hrs/day typically). He's an animal lover (has a dog, a cat and a bird, if he had the land probably would have a horse, goat and sheep too LOL). Very integrated into the Amish community. I'm trying to think of something that would speak to that side of him. NO he is NOT Amish. Just grew up around them, employs them and does business with them. That is something near and dear to his heart, he respects them and the simple life they live (wishes I was a little more reserved as a result... I told him he needs a good ol' fashioned Amish girl or a puritan, but I am working on it, I think he's worth it). But, he also likes to ride, so I'm thinking maybe I'll go to Build a Bear and create him a biker bear... is that too silly? (he is a middle aged man after all). I know, I could take a pic of his dog and put her on the coffee mugs!!!

Seavixen is right... I really dislike receiving a gift from someone and realizing that the person doesn't listen to me and/or didn't take the time to know me. My parents were always horrible with gifts, they don't know me very much... and they don't listen to entire sentences so I would be annoyed on xmas. E.g.- I don't like items having to do with hearts and then for xmas I get a tiny little heart pendant.

They'd also give me things I don't like and tell me "but it's yourrr favorite!" LOL -GRRr... e.g.- heart pendant! it's your favoriteee! LOL

I'm personally very big on making stuff for people. It feels good to receive that. Even if it is a homemade card... poem... etc. but you said he likes riding, so maybe a subscription to a magazine that has to do with riding or customizing bikes... a cool helmut... find out when theres a bike show or something like that (depending on where you are located).

I hope you find the perfect gift, Good luck lildol.

I tend to be quite frugal and not really one to spend money on things that I really like unless it's something I desperately need. So friends will often say to me "how can you live without x, y or z" and I'll be like "well I'd love one but I don't really need it" so for someone to take the time to notice that and get it for me as a gift it's a real treat and something I really appreciate.

God I sound so stingy lol.

Generally i make the gifts i give out. Everyone has or wants an ipod blah blah. Im not as concerned with clothes and electronics as i once was. Gifts that show someone knows more about me than they let on are the most treasured. If i spend 8 hours making a gift for someone i feel it holds real meaning and value not just monetary value.

Then again i live in an earthship that i built myself but i just think self completed projects speak louder than words. My Pisces Gf is getting her earthship yoga studio as a gift. All this really cost me was time and effort. But i know deep down it will mean more to her than anything i could have purchased no matter the cost. Even tho i told her i was going out with friends 5 nights a week for the last 6 months and i can tell shes agitated now im sure once she sees what the time was really spent on itll be appreciated.

I pride myself on giving gifts that speak knowledge and understanding of a person rather than something generic that is on their " Christmas List " . Recieving the same is equally as thrilling.

Im excited to find out what shes got for me.
