I agree. I personally think Moon and Venus/Mars combos are more important than sun.
My Scorp and I are both Aquarius rising. I have Libra moon, him Leo. I have Gemini mercury, him Sag. I have Cancer/Cancer in Venus & Mars, he has Capricorn/Scorpio. His Midheaven is Sag, mine Scorpio. I was also an hour away from being a Pisces rising.
It's sooo much more than sun but people sure love to ruffle feathers, don't they?

Also, all Geminis I dated thus far were disaster. Same with Libra. One Aquarius was never meant to be, and one was star crossed. Leo ended because no effort on his part, otherwise I would say it was a pretty successful relationship for 4 years. Leo I met recently before my Scorp was CRAZZZY.

Yeah my chart placements are all air/water. Minus my uranus/Neptune/saturn in Capricorn.
He is Scorpio with mostly fire placements.
He's water with fire moon, I'm air with air moon, we have the same air rising.
If we were born an hour earlier, I would have been a rising Pisces and he would have been a rising Aries.

I can get very emotional and hard to handle at times. Most guys get fed up and annoyed with me...I thought my ex was the only one that could handle my "crazy". Leo sun with Tauraus moon and Virgo venus and Leo mars.
He handled it well and I was the one that ended it, he kept me emotionally grounded and reassured me. He was THE stingiest man I have ever met though and he easily makes $ 80k a year now.

I think astrology should be served as a guideline, not a set in stone thing. If 2 people have enough common/different ground, and care for eachother, astrology should have little to do with it.

My grandpa is a Cancer and has been with his Libra wife for about the same time too.
And no, it's not about what they do for me. I'm just comparing the differences as he wants to do things to make me happy and shows me the emotional closeness I crave unlike I never felt I had with my Leo ex of 4 years. He would pull the, "you know what I think...so I don't need to say it" his Taurus moon made him settle and not feel he had to do much, and that didn't satisfy my libra moon.
Yeah my Pisces female and Aquarius male friend are very solid. Aquarius is anti social just like my Gemini male best friend. The 2 of them have been best friends for 8 years, as well as the Pisces females. (My best male friend gem is also dating a Pisces female who is a super close friend of mine)
I met them all together and they became my regular crew fast! Hah

Also to add that water signs will have to understand that tears and emotional manipulation won't work on these signs. It may work in the beginning but after that, the attraction fades for air signs. This is why I said up-thread that water signs will have to focus more on dealing with their emotions on a mental level.
I think this site has helped me realize that the other aspects of our charts have to be taken into consideration.

I can see how your Aquarius rising FIGHTS for what you feel strongly about (maybe that's it) It's not about proving to them, but that you know deep in your heart that you're in the "right" place, and feel good about it. If it feels right, and you are harmonious, then that's all that matters in the world. You're the one "In" the relationship and he treats you good, and you treat him good, have good emotional connection, as well as physical....there you go.

Out of my best friends I have;
Female Pisces and Male Gemini getting married this year after 8 years together.
Female Pisces and Aquarius Male who have one of the most solid marriages I have seen, of 11 years.
