I just bought a firearm (just for safety) I live alone. & asked my guy if he would take me to the range, I haven't shot since I was young, so I need practice. His response was "yea if you want". This was through text.

I got the vibe that he doesn't really want to take me. (If you want) I thought it would be a fun thing to do together & a great learning experience. Am I reading too far into this or does his response sound like he's not feeling taking me?

That's how I would take it too, tbh. :/

Does he know how to use a gun?

Well, we are both from Louisiana so guns are just a common thing, he has one so I assumed he knows how to handle them. Most men here know how to shoot. But maybe I should ask :/ maybe he doesn't like them.

Honestly, I could have asked my dad, but I thought it would be a fun outing for us. But if he doesn't want to take me I'm not gonna beg.

One of the best dates we had was going to a gun range!!! I already knew how to shoot, so I didn't need him to instruct me.

I do think you're reading too much into his response. Just tell him the hours on Saturday and ask what time he wants to go. See what he says then.

Most men I know would jump at the chance to go to the range and would absolutely love it if their women were interested.

If he doesn't want take you it could be he doesn't know enough and isn't confident in his own skills so he doesn't know how to teach you. Then, he needs to go practice too. I can't imagine a man not knowing how to handle a weapon though. Texas gal here.

If he doesn't take you, go anyway. The men working at the range will help you. Regardless, go and learn how to use your weapon so you don't end up hurting yourself.

Good question.

Does he know how to handle a weapon?

Please don't tell me he is some limp-wristed moron who votes democrat and hates the concept of self-defense.

Those are the absolute worst.

lol!

If this is the case, then buh-bye. Send him back up to liberal land! I couldn't fathom being with someone like that. Guns are part of the Texas life style .
