Plus, although water tends to dry out things down there, the fluids from her cycle acts as kind of a lube during the time...this is why some men say that sex actually feels better during period (or even pregnancy) sex.

I agree that sex during while she's bleeding heavy is a bit much. But I see nothing wrong with her waiting until the flow has calmed down (or almost ended) to have sex.
