Took you 16 years to figure that out? You could've asked me, would've told you that in 5 seconds. It's Relationship 101. It's a partnership, it takes two.
While I appreciate you just trying to help, how about you share something profound instead? Being Cpt Obvious gets old real fast.
Totally disagree actually. Things should be effortless, because you are happy to do them. I’m not saying there won’t be challenges, but that’s the point there will be external challenges you tactical together, but effort to stay together, I’m not sure.
Used to be in a physically abusive relationship, she told me this all the time, it takes effort to stay together and couples need to work at it. Kinda made sense. Eventually she suggested couples therapy. First session the therapist asked her if she hit me and she said yes. Therapist said she needed to have one on one sessions before it could be couples therapy. If something is hard, if something is wrong then your effort should not be to stay together, it should be to walk away.
So yeah maybe you’re right, relationships take effort on knowing when to walk away. But I disagree it should take effort to stay together.

It takes effort from both persons for a relationship to work, it takes daily hard work, it takes demonstration from each person toward each other, affection, respect, Communication, sacrifices, treating the person that you are with the way that you want to be treated, if one person does not put effort then it will never work out for that couple. Effort is the key to a successful relationship. When you love someone you do everything and anything in your power to let them know how much you love them and vice versa you do everything in your power to make the other person happy, and you always compromise. I come from a failed relationship 16 years of marriage I come to realize today that we both stopped putting effort therefore everything was lost the 16 years that we built together were completely lost, And there's no going back after everything is lost.
