Yes, same here DG!
I am very very careful of what kind of friends I let into my life. Lot of people are egocentric and toxic.
I have learned to spot it from a mile and nip it in the bud. Lot of people have no idea that love is found inside and has nothing to do with outside show of flowers and candy and other glitz of this fake world.
Just like you rocky, I am sick of this travesty.

Well I mean, like I didn't really do much because I'm single and.. whatever, you know?
But then I hear someone talking about what some guy got her, and then was asked WHICH guy. She tends to have a flavor of the week and sleeps around a bit much. WHY is she getting shit for Valentine's?
There's a couple of people I know in relationships that... just aren't really relationships. THEY'RE talking about their Vday and bragging about flowers, what they got, etc. Some of these people are pretty shitty individuals and don't frankly deserve any sort of attention like this to begin with, so it leaves me kinda wtf, haha.
It's a sad day when someone with the nickname "blue waffle" gets flowers for Valentine's Day, you know?
I guess I just picture the use of anything Vday related is about love and whatnot. Skanky hoes who have shitty track records are getting attention on this day? Dafuq? It's like giving Jerry Springer an Oscar. :/click to expand

I'm confused. How can you tell who should be celebrating valentines day and who shouldn't? It's a cute little holiday with cute little hearts and things and people should celebrate if they want to. While I understand your point somewhat another part of me says this post sounds bitter and judgemental like it irks you to see people having a little light fun, kissing hugging etc and just enjoying each others company. And if the couple loves each other on valentines day and screams at each other the next day, well that's their business. The holiday doesn't have to be "deep" and there is no one interpretation of love, everyone expresses it differently.

Ok, so from what you say are irked because you are single. May be when you are in love and with someone you will feel different? It's a fun little light holiday 🙂click to expand

WHOOOSH.
That's you missing the point.
Thanks for playing. :/
All I'm saying is that skanky hoes, fuck buddies, and "options" shouldn't be celebrating as they aren't really celebrating "love," because that's what the day is about. Their little situations are far from love and romance. It cheapens an already cheap holiday, if that's possible.
I think it's a good example of where so many people stand in what relationships and dating REALLY are. I know I'm not the only one who's noticed, either.
Something else a friend and I noticed is that you saw these lovely individuals flaunting all their crap they got via social media, but REAL couples, the tried and true ones, weren't bothering. It was an interesting trend to see. I think it kinda says something. I mean, I get the excitement of wanting to share, but the real couples weren't really making a big deal about it. Only the pseudo/not really relationship ones were. :/click to expand

I'm not anti Valentine's, but I was pretty disgusted with the amount of fake "relationships" celebrating or unsavory types who actually had "valentines."
It just seemed to dilute the idea of what Valentine's is really about... and it's rather depressing since it seems like people don't take dating and love seriously anymore. It's just become therapy and social status.
