I'm admitting it.

I'm scared 😢

I'm moving in 5 months...it's for a good reason: to finish school. But it will be the first time I'll really be on my own. I really don't know anyone there.

For most my life, I've been pretty fearless. Whenever something has made me nervous/anxious I've always pretty much faced it head on.

But I'm seriously nervous over this. I haven't really had to make friends in so long, I don't think I would even know how to. Even at my age, I don't know what I'm going to do with my friends and family to fall back on.

I know Saggies are supposed to be all for change. But this is a really big change and it's scary.
Someone help!!

i moved 1000 miles away from my family and friends and started a new life.

it was very scary and it still is. ive been totally on my own for 4 years now and there are times when i freak out and thinking about moving back to the comfort and reliability of my family. eventually i have come to love the life that i have created for myself. and visits from my family always helps.

5hrs and you're spazzing—

I've moved all over just to say I could. Moving overseas permanently is my biggest foe but ultimately, going away to school is the best way to learn how to spread your wings. You begin to realize that there are these things called phones, skype, planes, trains and automobiles that can help keep you in touch. Yeah I know...novel concept.

Oh and the truth is, the majority of incoming students don't know nobody. It may take a minute but just join something. Plenty of random clubs and voila, you're in.

Good luck cat!

*hugs* to bri.

you are fortunate to the respect that you have a nature about you that can handle this with much grace and dignity. quiet those butterflies in your stomach, take a deep breath and repeat "I can DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this" until you DO.

plus if you are feelings little pieces of loneliness (which is normal), jump on in here and we'll make you smile.

you are going to do absolutely fantastical.

and if anyone bugs you....remember, I'm a scorp and can do the hoodoo thing from my desk, I don't even need a plane ticket 😉

♥
I have a feeling I will be looking to my DXP fam for support too

I know, I am kind of being a baby.

But that part about the majority not knowing anyone does comfort me...
I haven't really had to make friends in years. I don't think I even know how anymore. :/
I guess it will probably come pretty naturally when I desperately need people to talk to. Haha

@brianfay, I think you will be fine from here you seem like you have a good personality. I dont know if it is a scorp thing or not but I love the idea of starting over and meeting new people I live for that but that could be my 3 placement in Sagg, or my Scorp nature. As a matter of fact in June I am moving to a new area to be closer to my job and I can't wait it is only like an Hour away but I know my family and friends will not be coming to see me a lot but I still can't wait I will meet new people.

I hope I get a roommate totally opposite of me though. Good learning experience. 🙂
Maybe a lesbian? Black, Hispanic, Indian, or Asian.

I don't want another white girl. Lol.

What tif it's a Goth ?
Or a snooki smoosh smoosh ?
I thought about this earlier and the awesome part about going to some place new is like the build up, and the mixture of 'wtf am I going to do from here?' and 'wtf ? TcCcHhHYyeaaaHHh come on !!' 🙂 That and a lack of restriction in some sense, you can do as you please more errrrr... did I mention advenchurzz too ? 🙂

Lol I hope so!

I am kind of excited about new people.
Where I've always lived, it's kind of a small town. I pretty much know of everyone. Even if I don't know them personally, I know someone who does, or I've heard of them/about them.

It's gonna be nice in a way not to know a single person...or who they dated...or fucked around with...or who their parents are...or what they did when drunk one time...Lol you know

True. I wish I still had my prairie dog. 😢

She was the best pet ever. Like a tiny little compact size dog that hardly shedded, didn't need to be walked, ate very little, was independent but also liked my attention. She went to the bathroom in her cage - in which the pan was easily dumped and cleaned. She ate timothy hay and oats. Greeted me when I came home, and pouted when I would leave.

😢 *sniffle*

I'm moving in a week and a half. To a whole new state, about 1200 miles from my family. Thankfully only about 2 1/2 hrs from where i lived before, so I *can* see my old friends, it will just be hard. I'm nervous too.. but I realized that I can just join some clubs and I'll have friends very quickly. My new place is also across the street from the convention center and a bar lol, talk about a way to find new faces. I am focusing on the opportunity, not the loss. I know thats hard to do, especially when all you can see is the loss right now. But maybe you'll meet a friend you will have for the rest of your life? Mr. Right? (don't know if you're still looking, but I am) What I do when I feel lonely is get online (haha like dxp) and call people. You don't feel so far away anymore.
