What is with all the secret relationships? Men and women claiming to be single but really they are in a relationship.

One guy even told me he was one of the good guys. He could be trusted. Come to find out he wasnt a good guy and he was already in a committed relationship with a woman he lived with.

I dont care if someone cheats on who ever, just give me the info so i can make the decision for myself if i wanna get involved.

But ppl are so dishonest. Why are people lying just to get sex? Get money? Ego boost?

You wanted attention from elsewhere?

Are people just super selfish and im just naive?

I think im just naive. I think i should just operate with the thought that every man i meet already is in a relationship.

What's *funny is, I have a couple friend who's having the exact opposite problem.

They've decided to go poly. She's scratching her "being with women" itch and he's trying to retroactively sow some wild oats. They're both super supportive of one another, but he's having no luck at all. He wants a proper hang and bang, not just a fuck buddy and he's being completely up front and honest about everything. Can't get a woman! Guarantee if he was just cheating on his wife and out for a fuck, he'd be knee deep in clunge by now.

it is soooo interesting that you say that because the guy asked me if i wanted to participate in an open relationship where i would meet his mate and it would just be the three of us. he envisioned the 3 of us going to dinner and hanging out.

way to have your cake and eat it

he claims that he told her about me and that she would be down for a 3some. his text was so cryptic. lol. He went on to glorify his relationship and how she was a great person, provider etc.

i guess as to show me that he had no intentions of leaving her. which is fine by me..

but that he still liked me and wanted a relationship.

the red flags were there and i was making tons of mental notes

1.) didnt save my number in his phone under my real name
2.) always in and out, up and down
3.) wanted to develop code names when i wanted some action

because as wendy williams says, men are dogs. i caught my sag leading a woman on online with no intention of meeting her getting her to send naked pics and such and promising to meet up with girl. this chick thinks they are headed for a relationship of which he has no intention. my counselor states 50 percent of men do this online bullshit outside their relationships for shits and giggles but it IS cheating. monogamy is dead and i dont GAF about men anymore. my only concern is stacking my chips, period.

I understand your frustration as I just went through this a couple of months ago...but having that thought as a result of what happened is exactly the wrong approach to take. Reason being is that same naivete(it actually isn't) you talked about...it's actually a positive attitude.

This may not make sense, but why let what others do change how you feel? People are who they are good or bad and more than a few will do you wrong. Make peace with that reality so that you can remain positive and treat each person as an individual.

its not changing the way i feel, rather how i approach any sitaution when meeting someone new. every guy will be asked a series of questions. all dealing around exes, secret relationships, kids, and jobs.

this is noble idea but secret relationships i am sure will not be divulged. The only way to know this is when the shady behavior starts and the inconsistensies start. i really believe a lot of these men and so good at lying however their shady actions give them straight away. i don't even listen to what men say anymore, i'm checking for their actions.

Don't trust someone until you know they are trustworthy would be a better way to think about it. Don't trust someone until you really know them. Don't expect people to be good to you, I am not saying accept bad behavior etc . Get to know them and realize if they are actually good people and do they REALLY like you or not or are they playing.


Be polite warm and kind but don't expect what you see is what you get. Get to know people and learn about them if you like them before you trust them. That would be my best advice.
