I think I'm beginning to understand the conflict between water and air signs. Irresistible Scorp once commented that Scorpio is like a river current. I'd take it further to call some Scorps -- particularly mature, highly evolved Scorps -- an ocean.
Oceans are fully realized, immensely powerful ecosystems. They harbor and sustain vast quantities of life. They engulf 75% of the planet and they hold depths mankind has yet to discover.
They have absolute control to flood earth and to extinguish fire. But they can never successfully seize and hold the wind. Air is simply beyond their jurisdiction. This disturbs the ocean and amuses the wind, and leads to conflict (hurricane).

My boss & I are pretty tight outside the office. when the company was smaller, we were much more relaxed and casual together. As the company grew and more staff came on board, I recognized our interaction came across as improper. Some staff assumed we were a couple.
I scaled back my contact with him to appear more professional. He put up with it for a while, then he "took off the kid gloves." Kept me in the office next to his and isolated me from other staff. This was pretty cruel to me because I thrive on interpersonal contact.
By the end of it, I was glad to come to his office whenever he called me because he was the ONLY person I was "allowed" to see. He didn't even have to raise his voice, if he just said my name clearly, I'd come to him.
And I realized I was being "groomed" or "trained" -- whatever you wanna call it -- to do exactly that. I don't know who I feel sorriest for, my boss manipulating me so he could get hugs and attention I'd always freely given him in the past, or myself for being manipulated into doing it.
Scorpios are loveable people. That doesn't make them easily loved.
