Scorps - Bitchiness vs. Senstivitiy

Personally, I go between the two. I really dont take crap and as i have gotten older, I have found that my temper and threshold for patience has gotten worse. However, I am also very sensitive. I was thinking about it this morning. My feelings can easily be hurt by those who are close to me and I find that I am almost overly accommodating and considerate to those who i care about. Maybe, to a fault. It's like oil and water...polar opposites within me. One more observation about myself - it takes a lot for me to really be interested in a guy. But when a guy does capture my interest??_it's OVER. I am head over heels sometimes rather quickly. Something that I need to work on??_

Which one is a more dominent characterisitc of your personality?

That is a trait I see in my son that irritates the fuck out of me. When he falls for a girl, he is completely oblivious of reality .. she is gold, and he will defend her until he dies from it.

Then when he is finally over her, at the end of relationship ... he will then come back and admit that he was purposely ignoring the things he didn't want to see because he thinks this is being loyal .. and it's not, it's not being loyal.


Loyalty means ACCEPTING .. not ignoring.

That's not so bad .. maybe to a fault is a little bad.


What is bad is when people let others who aren't important to them, effect them.

Now that's fucked up.

I agree. I think different Scorps show their loyalty in different ways. I used to be like that with my father when I was younger. My father would tell me that a guy was no good and I would defend the guy as if my life depended on it. Lol.

As I have gotten older, I have learned to look at people and my relationships more realistically.... not ignoring and possibly not even accepting if the problem is a deal breaker.

I'm not a Scorp, obviously .. but, my biggest thing is trying to unnumb myself. There's a block there, where I can't feel things like other people do and thus far I haven't been able to unblock it .. seeing I'm 50, I guess I have to give up and realize, it's for life.

What do you mean you cannot feel "things"? Are these "things" emotions? If so, what types of emotions are you unable to feel?

Other peoples feelings.

I can only feel my own.

However, that's not true.


I can feel when people are upset, or afraid, or horny, or happy .. I can feel the energy of thier feelings emitting from them .. but, I just can't feel how it feels to them via me.

Like in the summer .. you can see the thickness of the humidity, but, you can't touch it, you can't scoop it up to feel it .. yet, you know it's there.

I can understand that. I think everyone is different. That is just who you are and there is nothing wrong with that. I dated a Pisces who was like that.

I am the exact opposite. I can feel other's emotions. I also have a bad habit of putting myself in other people's situation....I imagine how I would fel if I were in their situation to better relate to them. Which is a gift and a curse as I am a school counselor. Which again is where that sensitive nature comes into play. Agghh.

Ugh. I do that too. That's me TRYING to be fair because I've been told so much that I'm too harsh and overly judgmental so I put myself in the other person's shoes and it get's me into nothing but trouble because I back off them and sugarcoat things so not to hurt feelings. Yuck. I hate it when I do that. It comes back to bite me in the ass every single time.
I prefer to stick to my guns and be who I really am (which CAN be harsh and judgmental. I hate to say it but I'd rather be honest and risk hurting someone's feelings then to be not true to who I am and sugarcoat things. But I feel bad when I know I've hurt someone's feelings because I KNOW how that feels.

Ginger - I am pretty honest too. It is weird. I can take on other's problems as my own. Yet, i can get pretty harse in my advice. When I do give harse advice, all of my friends know that it is coming from heart. Lol.

My friends know every thing I say comes from the heart too. They just know they are gonna get it straight and to the point and it may sting.
But at least they know it's my honest to goodness opinion without having to wonder if I was just being too nice to say otherwise.
