what are you like at saying goodbye to people?

with me, things get messy. i all but attached myself to my son's ankles when he few back to england last year and my daughter had to support the sobbing mess that was her mother when he disappeared out of eyeshot, lol.

on thursday, i'm taking my daughter back to england and i will see my son for about 30 minutes which will be the first time since december that i've seen him. i'm on business and obviously won't be staying with my ex and his woman which is why it's only half an hour but it means too that i will be saying goodbye to BOTH my babies at the same time 😢

my daughter's already taunting me about what i'm gonna be like.

goodbyes suck more than a mahooosive sucky thing don't you think?

i'm terrible at goodbyes. big surprise coming from a capricorn.

i'm dying inside a veritable long and drawn out death because goodbyes feel like forever.

so at the actual event of the goodbye, i cover it up with hugs, kisses and smiles and "i will see you soon"s rather than goodbyes. I really can't stand the word. I don't ever say goodbye, now that I think about it.

MadamCrab, that's good advice.

purrhiss: i think i'm so over the top cos my parents weren't that bothered by goodbyes. the wouldn't even stop the car to drop me off at the airport, lol....the door would open and i'd get booted out, suitcases tossed out after...and then they'd probably shout 'and don't come back!!'

fortunately, after my goodbyes i had some business to do in england and so was distracted by that (and a little booze). my son's coming out to spain next tuesday so i'll see him them....i cry when they arrive too, lol...i cry and then i FEED them cos i'm a feeder type.

I wish my Scorp mom acted like this. I'm lucky if I get a wave goodbye at the airport...

i actually picks fights with people to make saying goodbye easier. days before i become a raging bitch to that person and i get moody. its gets to a point where the person leaves no runs and i dont even wave goodbye, hug or nuthin.

just easier than kiss kiss kiss, xoxoxo. too emotional

omg...my son's best friend in england did that when we left for spain 10 years ago but i hate to say it, he was only 7 at the time— LOL!!

r1g. You are absolutely adorable lol

Why is it that all parents, no matter what adult age their kids are, seem to think we still dont know how to feed ourselves? I love it.

yeah well you don't i bet!!

you think about it though...when you're an adult and go 'home' to visit, you always kinda hope your mother makes certain foods for ya, it's what we do!! it's all about food! even my kids when they talk about their dad's new partner...the cheating hobag (soz, tourettes)...all they say is that she's not as good a cook as me, lol!! it's obviously how mothers are valued....hence the need to feed.

actually, i went out with a scorpio man who was a feeder too...whenever i saw him, he would give me tupperware with some delicious dish he'd prepared for me and my daughter. i was a bit pissed off he turned out to be a knobhead cos he was a damn good cook and i LOVE MY GRUB!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! it's not your fault!! i have so much libra going on in my chart, that's what makes me mooshy but i don't like being a blubbering mess like i am sometimes cos i don't think it's fair on my kids. they worry about me all the time they're not around and it's not their job to, lol. if i managed to keep things together a bit more, they would be less concerned i'm sure.

i spoke to my daughter on the phone yesterday and when we were saying goodbye she said, 'i bet you're tearing up and waving right now aren't you'....and of course i was, lol.

i think my kids think i'm a bit retarded.

Rm,

You;ve broken the mold set by your parents. You show empathy and vulnerability in displaying your tears and sorrow whan you say goodbye.

My son moved back to his college room yesterday...2 weeks early. He wanted to get a head start there. I woke up depressed, didnt want to participate in the packing up, and he was ok with letting his father do it with him. The goodbye inthe drive way was a simple hug, saying "see ya". Prolly cus he is only moving 10 miles away. (I know..laugh at me).

10 miles on land is 10 million in the heart of a codependent mother. Letting go has always been devestating on my cancer venus. I have to talk myself thru it, reminding myself this is normal and not final.

😢

yeah...it's not so much about the distance between you as it is the change in your relationship. they're growing up and at some point you have to let them go.

although it will be over my dead body, LOL!!!

purrhisssss.....i bet you've seen another side of your mother whenever you've been hurt or upset by someone else? all the scorpy mothers i know are like pitbulls if someone upsets their babies. i think our maternal instinct is very deep rooted but when we show it, it's a force to be reckoned with.

i dont even say goodbye at parties, get togethers, etc, i just get up and leave.

goodbyes are just unnecessary and awkward. everyone wants a hug goodbye. there is nothing more that i hate than having to hug everyone in a room. that could be like 50 people. eww. i dont want the scent or sweat of 50 people on me (mars in virgo). i barely hug my parents or family goodbye. a simple "bye" is all i need. i dont feel anyless loved, id hope that others dont feel any less loved if i dont hug them.

i dont even like hellos or saying goodmorning. shit aint that good to be quite honest.

wow purhissss....see? i told you!!! my daughter is 13 going on 17 right now and she's getting a lot of inappropriate looks from boys AND men when we are out together. i swear i will one day gouge out some guy's eyes some day soon cos i don't like it!!! mind you, i can see her lapping it up out of the corner of my eye. you know, she even said to me 'move over mum, it's my time to shine'. LOL!!! chip off the old block. aries sun/leo moon/scorp rising. no wonder she gives me jip!!

DMV....you are SO RUDE, lol!!! i would LOVE to be able to just backdoor parties and suchlike but there's always someone who spots me and then i get dragged in to say my goodbyes...and usually pick up a tab too, lol.

a couple of years ago i had a huge birthday party which was completely against my character cos i'm an intimate soiree type. i hated my own party so much, i left an hour after arriving without a word. drunken revellers were passing by my house in the early hours of the morning thanking me at the tops of their voices for such a great evening, lol.

LOL!!! I'm experimental 😄 I have a few delicious tricks up my sleeves. Scorp bf is a fantastic cook. And that was a little hidden secret of his that he kept from me for months just so I wouldn't drag his butt into the kitchen. Then all of the sudden one Sunday morning he whips up the best brunch of my life in a matter of minutes! 😕 My scorp sis and scorp grandmother are good chefs too. Wow... my grandma... amazing cook!

Yea... I gotta hand it to the scorps... you ppl know how to whip up some tasty dishes.

And yes... Mom knows her kids comfort foods best. I swear my mom is psychic sometimes. If I've had a bad day and just want mom's cooking, I would swing by her place with my fingers crossed... LOL and she'd have two of my favorite meals waiting on the stove! That or she just always cooked two dishes that happened to be my favorites. 😛 I like my first theory better tho.
