'What' Do You Fall in Love with?

I was thinking of 2 of my exes who I can't seem to forget and I realized what I miss the most is their smell, their taste and the way it felt when we touched.

I have had exes who were perhaps hotter, or smarter, or touched me more emotionally, but apparently, I'm obsessed with physical chemistry. Or do you think what made touching them so exciting was our mental compatibility ? Am I so shallow that love=sex for me ? I don't know.

So what is it that you can't forget about certain exes?

I don't think it's shallow to have sex and love in the same category. As a Cancer I do this 100% . It's not that I can't separate them, but that it's so much MORE and so much BETTER when they're together. Mental and physical chemistry are a huge MUST in my book.

As for what I miss? Nothing much. He wasn't my soulmate, wasn't that into me the way I was him, was selfish and abusive and our good times together were because I gave him his way all the time. I didn't even like his smell that much and there wasn't much to crave.

So what is it that you can't forget about certain exes?

The smile, the gentle way they looked in the moonlight/rising sun, the sounds they made while being intimate, the words whispered softly in quiet moments, the touch when I was down, the sheer joy of being together and discovering new things...I could go on, but more specific images I'll keep for myself.

My soulmate I am with now, well we broke up for a brief moment our first few months into dating. We were both scared.
Anyways, I missed the way he held me when we went to bed so much. I missed his energy. When we were together, even if we were on opposite ends of the couch, I felt his love.

i've always remembered more of the physical aspects of the relationship as well, even when of course it was much more than that. i think it may be that i can't verbalize my emotions well and in general i'm not a touchy person with people... so every physical touch is like a transcendent experience for me. i could remember my first love.. he wore armani express and it was etched in my memory. after we were separated and i was heartbroken, i could tell with precision if a guy was wearing that cologne.. and it would physically make my stomach twist in knots and my heart ache.

for some reason, watching him sleep made me fall in love with him. of course, i'm not talking about staring at him all stalkerish.. but you know the casual glance when you suddenly wake up with the early morning light seeping through the window and in your sleepy haze, you catch his profile, sleeping peacefully with a slight smile on his face... and then you wonder what he's dreaming about... yeah love.
