is this thread for scorps only..?? :s I don't know lol but since I clicked on it and came here..I am going to share my story.. if that doesn't terribly bother you that is..π
compliment about my appearance..:
I simply say thank you.. lol
and add 'you look charming/dashing/great, too!' .. if they were my friends π (and of course, I mean them!! π) .. look for something nice about them and make a comment about them..π ex) I like your purse where did you get it?, I've always liked your smiles, they're so sweet!, I love your dress, it looks really good on you! etc..
if they were some strangers.. then say 'thank you, you're very kind!! π' ..then continue conversations (whatever topics we were on .. or look for nice traits about them and compliment them back as I wrote above in the case with my friends..) or say 'have a great day!'..depending on the situation/circumstance ..π
as for compliments about deeds I've done..
I say 'thank you' if I feel that I've really done a good job there and the deed deserves/worth the compliment..π
might add 'but I couldn't have done it without your help/support' if they were my coworkers, colleagues and a part of the deed/project..π
as for my feelings about them compliments..:
both I guess lol.. I feel a bit shy but proud of myself/what I did, too :p .. am only human XP
genuine compliments make me feel good, of course..π
summary: I smile big & say 'thank you!!' when I get compliments..π & try to compliment back them as long as I can!
lol I think I should cut down on that smiley.. too many of them it seems..lol
Depending on the source I won't say anything either because I am wondering if the person is just blowing smoke up my rear or because I am embarrassed. The person often thinks I am being rude, but my objective is met: they'll stop complimenting me π.
Just say thank you and let it go.
Depending on the person, you can figure out quite easily if it's sincere or not.
Depends on who gave me the compliment and how I was feeling about the event, look, thing before I received the compliment.
Compliments from family and friends about something I know didn't deserve the compliment, I immediately give them a wordy response passive aggressive response with a chuckle(my version of a drawn out and polite F you) or.......if it's a sincere compliment about something I already liked, I give a big thank you and maybe return the compliment (usually just with friends).
If it's from a guy who I know has romantic feelings towards me then I might not take it too seriously but i'll give a quick thank you and a smile and keep it moving.
However I've been getting smiles from men out in public lately (where I live that's a big deal). Men have been just a little more polite and go out of their way to do something nice for me. That's a compliment in itself. I'll let that get to my head for like 5 minutes, then i'm over it. (Polite) Male attention is nice.
I always thank them of course.
I feel a mixture of shyness & ego boost. π
A sincere and educated compliment is well-received with a thank-you
all other compliments are uncomfortable
oh wait - if I actually helped someone - that's the best
When its sincere it would make me shy and happy, smile, and say thank u. If someone overdoes it or i can smell a lie, it would turn me into an aggressive sweet to rude level of a scorpio, depending on my gut feeling.
Well you Scorpios are quite intuitive & you can easily spot lies & if someone is BS around. You can tell if they are sincere or not. I have 2 Scorpio female friends, & i usually compliment them on their personality traits & accomplishments. They are always sweet back to me. I wouldn't worry about the superficial ones (looks compliments). So just be sweet back to them & continue on whatever you was doing. Simple π
