Should women be suspicious of male gynaecologists? We're talking about a guy who would spend all his time studying, touching and looking very closely at vaginas all day long.

Mine is a woman, but Ive had a male before. I think most are professional and its a little insulting to assume that because they're men, they can't be.

I don't look at it like that. Being in the medical field (Cancer Research) for the past 8 years or so I realized that these doctors that I work with has a passion to want to save a life. Somebody has to do it beit a male or a female.

I have heard of dentist being a bit flaky? putting people under and fondling them, that is some crazy stuff right there

I personally feel more comfortable with a male doctor than a female. To me male doctors are more compassionate than female doctors

I was talking to an intern last year asking him how his studies was going and he said he Ms.----- I just saw what they do on an ob/gyn exam and I called my mother and told her I was not going to be an ob/gyn doctor... he kept making this weird face like it was just to much for him... I was LOL So he is going to be an IM doctor.

I believe being a certain type of doctor has to be a calling instead of a want but a surgeon or an ob/gyn, is not for everybody.

Female doctors have an attitude about female problems to insinuate that the issue is no big deal, eventhough it was big enough to bring to the doctor ... whereas a man is much more compassionate about why you find yourself in his office.

Imagine being man and coming home from work where you saw 20 patients and 3 of them were YUK! And your wife indicates she wants you to do something sexual...........there would have to be that voice in your head that said "please Dear God, no more today."

I'd wonder why anyone, male or female, would choose such a profession. Think of the amount of exposure to venereal toxins, some of which are inconceivable (I hear stories).


In the case of the males, some claim to do it for the experience of delivering a child. Afterall, it's the closest they can come to doing so, and most gynecologists are also obstetricians.

Do not make me more paranoid then I already am about the down there doc. Seriously I'm not right for DAYS after a visit. I take off work to sit at home and sulk afterwards for sometimes a couple days.

The whole thing just isn't right. *shudders*
