Ok, so I've been posting in random threads about football. Most of the topics are completely unrelated to the topic heading in the particular thread, LOL! So, seeing as how CJ or DK didn't make the 2009 "Official" Football Thread! I'm stepping up to the plate; swinging, and bringing it on (ok, baseball analogy, but you get the point)!

Now, in response to random stuff:
1. Agreed DK - Adrian Peterson is just -- yeah, he's all that AND a bag of chips. The scary thing is he is ONLY going to get better! If he can continue to get good blocks; big holes; stiff arm his competition and continue his mad speed - the sky is the limit, and the Vikes have a real chance.
2. Mark Sanchez -- Rookie? Yes, but I think the nickname "Namath 2.0" may be legit for real. As you pointed out DK, he does have impeccable presence in the pocket; especially considering he's a Rookie, and he's poised and can scramble. Again, I will reserve a full "report" until he has a cold day in Foxborough or some other frozen tundra. Then we'll really see what he's made of.
I'll have more to add (of course!) but I had to respond to these!

Oh HELLYA! He got cold jacked up by Ray! What a good, clean hit. Like you said, he read that play like he KNEW it was coming!
Now, go find me where Adrian was pushing guys out the way!! I need to play that run clip over, and over, and over again! Like Ludacris says, Adrian was like, "Move b#atch get out the way!"
Man, I just LOVE ME some football!
Ok, but hands extraordinaire - Randy Moss 🙂. He has that speed where he seems like he's just chilling, then he looks up and looks at his defender and says, "Oh, I got that, and I'm in the end zone!" Before his defender can even know what 's happening, he's pulled away and scored. And his hands are terric. He gets those grabs that I'm like - "Really—?!!!"

I got love for Randy too but the wideout with the best hands out there right now has got to go to Larry Fitzgerald. You could throw the ball anywhere near Fitz and he'll go get it. He had his coming out party last year in the playoffs. I agree that Moss does look like he's taking a stroll when he runs. Doesn't surprise me that he covers so much ground the guy's friggin 6'4-'6'5. He's got those long strides. I think Steve Smith on the Panthers deserves some recognition too. For a little guy he sure as hell can catch the ball.

I am NOT a AZ fan, but Fitzgerald is legit for real. Watching Adrian run in these clips reminds of my old time fav' Barry Sanders. He zigged & zagged and spun on a dime better than ANYBODY out there. The one thing Adrian has over Barry is just that pure strength & athleticism. Adrian is extremely strong (as you can tell from the clips) and just manhandles guys out there.
Thanks for posting these DK (((esmooches))) yeah, yeah, I know it's not appropriate for the Sports board, but I had to show you some love for immortalizing these for me! Now, I'm going to watch these over and over saved on my computer! LOL!

Gotta give it up 2 Ray Lewis, reguardless of how much damage he did to your spirit singlehandedly as he smashed every man on your favorite team.

Fitzgerald...been sayin this for a looong time...but he will never get the recognition he deserves (Like my fav WR Andre Johnson)

Adrian Peterson will def be breaking MANY rushing records, there's no doubt there

I want u guys 2 keep an eye on Frank Gore as well. I think eventually he will have the strength to carry the 49ers one of these seasons just watch (Maybe even into the playoffs MAYBE 😛).

And another thing...WHAT HAPPENED TO STEVEN JACKSON—?

Definitely on board with you D. Dre doesn't get any love at all because he plays for Houston. He's been tearing up the league for a few years now. He had David Carr throwing to him and that never worked out. He's finally getting some recognition now that Schaub's throwing to him.

Anyone else think AP might rush for 3,000 yards this season? I sure as hell do. Screw 2,000 yard backs I want to see me a 3,000 yard back!

Gore seems to really have found a groove in San Fran. That 200 yard game he pulled off was insane! That o-line kept giving him alleys to run in and he kept shredding Seattle. It's going to be a while before the Niners make it to the playoffs lmao! They've got Patrick Willis on D and I'm hearing good things about him. I'll make sure to pick him up on my fantasy team if Chris Johnson or Steve Slaton don't pan out.

Jackson's being wasted in St Louis. Just another case of a very good player putting up good numbers on a really bad team, kind of like Andre Johnson before they got a good QB. He's been putting up a 1,000 yards on the ground the past few years with his best numbers being in '06 and with nothing to show for it. He needs a change of scenery or a miracle.

Anybody else realize that half the players mentioned in this thread went to school in Miami? Ray Lewis, Frank Gore and Andre Johnson all went to Miami.

I spilled beer all over the floor when I saw this play! HOLY SHIT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! I'm going ot be honest i didn;t think Favre could pull this off but when Lewis came down with that ball and dragged his foot I went nuts. Straight up this was wicked as hell!!!

P.S Embed of said play. Thansk to BigD for reminding me to put it up since NFL.com doesn't work in some parts of the world.

Go Vikes (Favre & Adrian 🙂)!
My Broncos are winning (ok, it is the Raiders, but a win is a win!)
Sanchez looked good today for the Jets! Another feather in their cap.
I'm in D.C. this weekend...I was on the lookout for Ray Lewis 😉 anyway, Ravens
kicked some a $ $ !

The Raiders are so bad lmao... They're thinking of drafting a QB since Jamarcus isn't working out. The kid's regressing badly and it shows he doesn't put any time in the offseason at all.

Have fun in DC hahahaha!

I'm saying the Colts are going to pull this one out. They can bring pressure on Kurt Warner and Peyton can do a lot of damage throwign to Wayne and Clark even though he doesn't have Gonzalez. And as I say this he gets picked...

It does suck that we can't see some stuff that the States can but that's why you have to be patient or look for streaming sites haha! Don't worry you and me and everyone else we can get this forum going. Plus, it's more convenient later on to post youtube vids later after the games are done.

Who you got winning the game BigD?

I'm cool DK 🙂 All is well in my football viewing world! My team spanked Cal last night...but, we aren't out of the woods, and have a long road of teams ahead of us :-/ I just keep crossing my arms, fingers, etc!
Come on DK, you know Pats will pull it out! Tom Brady has been playing very well today!
OYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! I'm so conflicted today because the Broncos are playing the Cowboys and since I like both teams this sucks!!!! WHO TO ROOT FOR!

What in the blue hell is wrong with Tennessee? They're about to go 0-4 on the season with Jacksonville leading them by 24 points with 13 and change left. Hell, Jones Drew only has a4 yds on the ground and Garrard is shredding that secondary.

Yeah, that Tenn team is like a train wreck. And what the hell w/Vince Young! I just want to kick him in his a $ $ all that wasted ability and talent!

Awesome! USC locked Cal up to 3 points. That defense is going to carry them to another bowl game. Not to mention McKnight is a superstar. Just too much star power on offense. Still not over the fact they lost to Washington though.

The Pats got out of it pretty good due to a lack of execution by Baltimore at the end there but that doesn't mean they're off the hook. The secondary was playing pretty good defense up until Flacco started making plays. Played inefficient football on 3rd down too. You just expect more with Tom at the helm.

I'm rooting for the Cowboys because that rushing game they have is crazy. Barber's back and Tashard Choice has really stepped it up with Jones out. And as I type this all out Champ Bailey has a pick.

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. They need to make that QB change asap, Kerry Collins is throwing too many picks. They weren't running the ball as much as I'd hope they would either. a split of 19 rushes to Jacksonville's 30. Tennessee should be looking to pound the rock as much as they can with Johnson and White.

Yeah, the Ravens were applying significant pressure to the Pats, but they basically lost it themselves; especially in that last drive which was poorly executed. Ray Lewis looked so sad 😢 *sob*

I don't want to jinx 'SC, but I think (if we win the next games) we will likely be in the RB (AGAIN) for like what the 4th straight year! I'm not complaining, because I went to two of those games, and they were awesome, but you feel like crap when you are SOO close to a NC game and just keep shooting yourself in the foot losing to BS teams! It pisses me off, so I'll not talk too much about it. We will definitely be feeling the loss of Stafon Johnson though. What a horrible travesty, but at least his larynx surgery appears to have been successful!

What's killing me today is that Mark Sanchez is getting eaten alive today; I can't see that game, but I keep going on to CBSSPORTS and they are updating the plays, and I'm dying here!

Wait a minute!! Did anyone see the Steelers last night. Okay, I got a little mad at them. How did they almost lose a 28 POINT lead!?!? Since Troy P has been out, their defense has seriously been lacking!!! The Charges were able to make field goals (during the 2nd half) with little to no effort in 90-120 secnds!?!? WTH!?!?

BUT Hines Ward's head butt was the absotlute best. I just love his intensity and agressiveness!!!

^^^Yeah girl, that was a little crazy, because I was doing some work on my computer after the first half, because I pretty much FIGURED they would have it in the bag.....ummm, yeah! I was wrong. Also, another nail biter was the Broncos vs Dallas game, and it's funny because that game was close the whole time. It sucks because I like both teams, so really I didn't lose since the Broncos won, but I still felt bad for Dallas. And of course, Romo is being crucified.
As far as the Steelers are concerned, without Jerome "THE BUS" Bettis, I am whatevah'....LMAO! Seriously though, I know so many Steeler fans!

Rashard Mendenhall had probably his best game in his career Sunday night posting 165 yds on 29 rushes with 2 TDs. He threw some crazy ass blocks too. Mendenhall managed to find seams all night and cut up that D like nobody's business. That O-line had an great night also. Seeing as how Chris Collinsworth was riding their jocks all night on the feed hahaha! But deservedly so. I really expected this game to be a lot more competitive throughout but it seemed like the Steelers took their foot off the gas pedal the second half and let the Chargers back in. then again I don't see how this was unexpected, with the return of Tomlinson and seeing as how San Diego's offense usually isn't that lackadaisical and can put up points with the best of them. Overall good game and Pittsburgh seems to be finding their groove now that they can re-establish that run game with Mendenhall's new found confidence, all they need to do is keep up the pressure on defense for two halves instead of one.

DK, it was so unbelieveable. From the moment that Favre stepped foot on the field, there was no doubt (in my mind at least) that the Vikings were going to win. There was a fairly calm attitude/presence that Favre had, and as the commentators said, anybody who thinks his arm is gone just needed to watch last nights game to know he still has a gang of "juice" left in his arm. There were a couple of throws that were so incredible to the receivers through multiple defenders! Incredible. Rodgers, well, he wasn't bad, he just got beat. Plain and simple. He did not play a horrible game, and for the most part he had respectable pass protection, but again, Favre's was a helluva' a lot better (imho). Adrian Peterson had the bomb a $ $ first quarter! I think there was one run they had that out of the 11 plays made, AP handled 7 of them! He did get juked a few times, and the fumble he had (returned for a score! OY) was not the best, but you know what, Adrian is off da' hook, so I don't think he's sweating it worrying about whether or not he has a job! Will the Vikes go to the SuperBowl? I don't know. Are the realistic contendors? Well, based on Favre's performance last night - yes, yes they are.
On another note, you know that Jets vs. Saints game killed me because Sanchez got hammered; interceptions, etc. He definitely had a "rookie" game! One of my girls said he needed that to smack him back into reality, because he has been playing pretty well for a rookie QB, and coming from SC it would be easy for him to get a big head, so he probably needed that loss to get him grounded again (although I'm sure his offensive coordinator and/or coach would strongly disagree). LOL. The messed up thing is that I was suppsed to be at that game 😢 but I am glad ( a little bit) that I didn't go, because I would have been horribly disappointed in Sanchez's play, and to be honest, Reggie Bush wasn't all that during that game either!

Holy... I definitely need to find some game tape then. I'm going to be up all night now damnit.

When watching the Jets/Saints game I was expecting NY to be the ones having the big defensive plays but when Sharper returned that pick six I changed my opinion just a little about the Saints D. I don't think Sanchez was expecting the Saints to be that good and neither were a lot of us. He'll get back on his feet again once he watches some tapes and goes over his mistakes. He had to come down sometime, better it be week 4 then on some must win down the road from now. Not taking anything away from the Saints defense because they actually played some good D, especially that front seven. They had him on his heels all game. Reggie needs to learn how to hold on to the fucking ball.
