I'd think that determination and reaching commodities is for your own purposes. Envy only has one result and that would be... misery. Anyone who feels constant envy of others can only lead an unhappy life for not measuring up to what everyone else has. Simple. Keep it simple Haff.

Envy is a tool. Envy is a means to cover minority complex. The real driving force is minority complex, while envy is tool used to cover it.

-- Oh ok well first I don't think that 'minority complex' is a driving force... could be for some... but generally I think there is more powerful forces that ultimately drive people to achieve their goals, to attain a higher position, acquire possessions of value etc.

I really don't think any of that is limited to the Taurean nature, perhaps the Taurus just puts higher value on the material things and therefore is driven to attain them. It's ambition, not necessarily a need to top off anyone else, in my opinion it's very personal... this is what life is about to us (on the surface, our basic drive that is) and our main goal.

Second, I don't think envy is a tool to cover up 'minority complex' simply because I think there is nothing to cover up.

I've met envious people before and they're nasty people, they're hateful and never happy. Taurus are driven, may be ambitious and obsessed with the material but they won't hate you because you did better. We are more focused on ourselves and our lives and our surroundings... self-centered can be a good thing sometimes lol

But if you want to talk about each sign I don't want to hate, but in my experience the water signs are far more prone to envy. Honestly, me, myself and I isn't an envious person. If my friend does better than me I'm happy for him/her, excited for them, I'm happy that the people around me are doing well because when they do well it drives me to also do well. Not because I feel envious but because I realize that I too can do better, maybe I've been lazy but maybe I should learn to be more like them in certain aspects, be more proactive, more disciplined etc. If it was envy I'd be miserable because I wasn't as ahead as someone else, or above them... just never happy and satisfied.

In conclusion I think everyone is prone to feeling envy at some point, but for some I think it's almost a day to day thing. From the bulls I've met I can't say that I've met one who was driven by envy. You can spot and envious person a mile away and you will not like them.

Minority complex IS a driving force. Take a 7 years old kid as an example. Many kids of this age have many minority complexes. Many of them say that they want to grow up fast! Why? Becase it's a minority complex of them. Adults know that kids are kids, and they can make faults, therefore they are weak! Children does not want to accept that. Thay want to be respected!!! This creates a minority complex in them to grow up faster, because only when they grow up, people will not take his childness as a weakness!!!!

This kind of behaviours are not limited to children only. Many adults also have minority complexes and there is nothing wrong with that. Having a minority complex is sign that a person CAN be educated and improved. If you don't feel that you have a weakness in something that tells you that there are people who are far more stronger in the matter of your weakness, you can't be educated and therefore you have no room for improvement in that matter.

Minority complex is not something to be resented. This is main driving force of human nature. It is needed to be covered with something that will prove people that in contrary to what they think, they are wrong. What method we do use to cover our minority complexes is defined by how much your community skills are developed. If you have very few community skills developed, then you probably will rely on your own abilities than others. Take an example of Capricorn and Taurus here. Capricorn is more developed sign towards community life than a Taurus. Therefore, Capricorn will use it community skills to acheive fulfilment of it minority complex while Taurus will most probably rely on it's personal power. I think envy is a manifestation of nature of that person. Envy says something like that: "Give it to me, I want it to myself!" This is more "me" thing that "we" thing. Which makes a Taurus more inclined to envy than lets say a Virgo or a Capricorn does.

Exactly. Taurus feels that material possessions are the exact solution to attain respect of people.

I think the latter is useless because if you do know who you are, you would not feel the need to prove anything to yourself (see minority complex?). Probably. For example Scorpios are possessive sign which means that they are greed ones. Possessivenes surely will fuel envy, but this kind of envy will not be manifested as urge to possess material things. Scorpio will try to possess people emotions.

Very true. The source of envy is minority complex and the source of this minority complex is the urge to live together. Until we remove the urge to live together (which is not possible) we cannot remove envy. But the ugliest part of envy comes out when a person does it for personal gains which suggests that this person has very small develeoped community skill.

It is very very difficult to spot envy. Just like arrogance, envy is a hidden character. Envious person perfectly knows that frequent blast of envy will not be tolerated. Therefore a person does hide it. Sometimes a person could also not aware of harboring envy in its character for a whole life. Many successfull leaders, philosophers and poets do show their envy in their creations which we can see sometimes and they not.

Since all people are experiencing envy:

Water signs; prone to show the ugliest type of envy because the urge to possess is not satisfied.

Earth signs; the urge to satisfy envy is satisfied, therefore those people are become driven by it. But this drive is not like in water signs. Earth signs experience it more mildly because they have no lack of possessions.

I'm not envious because i usually get what i want material wise. I think envy is a very destructive emotion, as is jealously (i won't like, i feel this a fair bit, but i think most taurus get jealous within the relationship realm).

Maybe only taurus's should ask taurus questions =)

So what's your point? I don't think atarsigns have anything to do with being envious. Are you trying to ask if Taurus, being materialistic and bueaty loving, are more susceptible to being envious people or are you just asking in generalities? I know alot about the taurean side of astrology and libra (mainly because that's what i am) and i know that both sides being ruled by venus love the good life. Taurus plan for the future, i am always thinking about it, i see the good life that other people have and sure i want it but i dont mull over it and let it get to me. I work towards my goals and comfort and i know they will come to me just like most things i've wanted have.

I don't think so at all. I have sun moon and mercury all in taurus and i know that we love nice things. Feeling general envy towards things isn't on my list of negative thoughts but as i said before, you can't ask a starsign group and get one answer. We do however have a jealously character trait which i've only really experienced in relationships but never anything else.

Taurus are driven for the good life being ruled by venus (and libra). This planet influences the souls life pursuits and in this case, beauty, love and comfort.
Taurus are materialic because their soul motto is "i have". We have things, we like to own things, hell, i even talk to my nike shoes sometimes. We are closely driven to have nice pleasures and comforts. Sometimes people see us as greedy but we aren't, we just like having the best of things or things with solid meaning imbued within them. We want things more than anyone else because we seperate work and relaxation so well. Our life goal is to look less into owning things and look towards the appreciation not the aquirement of nature.

I can't remember this quote word by word but it was said by a Taurean and all the bulls agreed with it on here... said something like:

The way I feel and I think many other bulls feel is that they're driven by their own desires for comfort, for owning all those pretty things but also a great desire to be completely independant. It's not even the ambition to be filthy rich, just comfortable enough to afford our toys 🙂 We'll help others but we never want to need help from others... I see this in a lot of bulls.

Greed, envy... are never what drives us.

If we were envious we'd feel the need to rub something in someones face... like 'Oh look at what I bought, so how much did that thingy cost you again?'

For example when I buy a pair of expensive shoes or something I feel happy 🙂 I think they look great and wow they make me look awesome but I don't go around showing them off or telling everyone how much they cost... hell! They may look almost exactly the same as another pair I had and no one noticed them but (I) love them.

My co-worker is a taurus 🙂 Well he has a cadillac that looks almost exactly like another co-workers cadillac BUT it really isn't exactly the same and let me explain. Once we were going to his car and he was about to open it when he laughed and said 'hey this isn't my car' his car was parked on the other side lol Anyway, once we got in the car he said that their cars really looked similar then he went on to say that hers was actually different because his car was a different version, it was newer, had a sunroof and the seats were 'real' leather lol The guy likes his car and would never tell his other co-worker that her car was any less, on the contrary... he'll say something like what good taste she has lol

But me as a Taurus, I can really appreciate that bit of information because it is fact that his car is better, more expensive and if you must have leather, then let it be REAL leather!
