I'm still pissed off about how they ended the series!
*insert 30 minute plus rant*
THIS is how it should have ended, NOT with the sheer crap they gave us because they had to torture the last episode to conform to a plot they wrote their way out of at least seven seasons earlier!
Do you have any idea how many TVs were destroyed that night? A LOT.
I have never accepted the original ending, and I never will. And let me tell you this

Thank God they left Marshall and Lily alone.

i have to agree with you. I understand that the RATINGs was more important. Fangirls wanted Robin and him to get together. So, well they got what they want. If this was a J.KRowling book, she would NOT appease the majority of the fans. Rowling got hate mail and lots of fan stopped reading after book 6 when it was CLEAR that Hermione was getting with "dumb" and "clumsy" Ron and NOT with sensitive sweet Harry.
I saw on the YouTube comments that people were disappionted that they killed off the mother. they were PISSED off. freaking 9 seasons of this time, and then kill her off? I guess too they wanted to show that hold on to your love thing.
Not at all. They started the series fully intending that Ted and Robin would end up together, but they only expected the show to run two or three seasons. As the show gained popularity and kept getting renewed, the writers went farther and farther afield with the plot until they were so far away from their original conceptualized ending that they really couldn't get back.
Undeterred, they screwed around and totally, TOTALLY screwed it up by shoving the lovely round peg that had been the series up to Season 9 into the square hole of "Robin and Ted." Because THAT'S the way they first envisioned it nine seasons earlier, and instead of going with the story they evolved, they jammed it-- JAMMED IT I SAY-- back into what had become a totally outdated story line.

I guess, it just means you cannot, ever stop loving someone once you love them from the very beginning. No matter what happens. It's kind of like the story of Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio, as i believe he was the only one who truly loved her deeply. (sent her flowers on her grave daily?)
you go through many relationships, jobs, and move, ect. but you never really stop loving, for the most part.
what do you all think? Although, there are some men/women who can cut off/freeze off love forever because it's toxic for them. so they kind of like have a "distant" love, that it's safer for their well-being?
