Just started watching.
Terrible tv writing but I'm enjoying the show with a few too many glasses of wine so...

Who else is watching? I'm on disc two of season two at the moment, apart from some obvious Stephen King twists that make it worthwhile I'm loving the entertainment value. Who would've thought Spielberg?
Weird huh?
King wise I loved the book The Stand and the movie lived up to the book in my opinion.
The Langoleirs is also a classic, and of course Stand by Me is always a childhood fave but as a series I don't know how The Dome made it honestly....

Anyways, my mate who put me on to the series is asleep so I have no one to rave about it with.
Any takers welcome.

I was disappointed with the end of The Dome.

I loved it, though, up till the end-- I won't

get into why (spoilers), but... yeah.

As for The STAND-- one of my all-time favorite

books, and the movie didn't disappoint, either.

Loved The Langoliers, too.

Craig Toomey. 😆

Oooh I'm intrigued, I can imagine the ending being disappoint. The nature of the story seems to be the journey not the destination.
So far though I'm enjoying it, Barbie is in Zenith the city after falling down that mysterious tunnel in the high school locker-
Seriously, this is so not my kind of show, but I'm addicted for some reason! Haha!
Mainly it's my day off tomoz and it's like 1.30am here and I'm just tuning in for some ol' fashioned tv lol
The Langoleirs was such a trippy concept for me, when I watched it I'd seen The Stand and it just delivered the same kind of Twilight Zone appeal...

Yes I'm enjoying the show, I like the multiple story lines and the supernatural aspect...
It has Hank from Breaking Bad as well, and his acting is a bonus too 🙂

Terrible tv writing

And that's all there is to it. Don't invest too much into it, it's another spielberg failure of smalltown-america-meets-a-vague-supernatural-threat.
You might as well be watching a soap opera because most of the episode are social conflicts in the cornfields.

I was just thinking the other day, the acting kind of reminds me of soap opera style story telling.
Very overplayed, dramatic about not much, very personal between characters based petty stuff...
But I haven't watched that sort of thing in a while and you know what, you're right, my expectations were low but as a result I'm enjoying it haha!

Read the book. It's much better. I tried to watch the TV show, but it was so different it was like they completely butchered the book. If I hadn't read the book first, it probably would've been OK but being that I had, it was pretty disappointing.
