I have a little easel set up in the corner of my bedroom near a windiw to my open back yard.

Some times went the weather is nice I'll set it up on the back porch. Over the fence I have a whole lot of country viewing. Which for you city folk translates into a whole lot of nothing.

I am not a great painter, but my ex liked them enough to hang them up around the house.

This is one of my favorites.

I also paint the sides of the canvas where it wraps the wood. That way I don't have to buy frames. The paint wraps around and catches my eye from the sides.

I told Nefer that'd I post some pics of my paintings one day so here they are.

This is one of the first ones I did. It was several years ago, I really don't like this one.

This one was a project in one of my college art classes. Hooray for elective credit hours. It made for an easy senior year with three painting classes. I don't really like this one either.

This one is a little over a year ago... it's okay.

I have one hanging in my office at work too. I really like that one but don't have a picture of it.

What do you all think?

Do any of you paint?

Actually.. you're INCREDIBLY talented, Sid. That's more than a "passable ability" you've got there.

I'm amused by your trademark initials... the S and P... See.. my birth initials are TSP... and my "initial trademark" is rather like yours.. only with the top of the T sticking out.. looks like a long T with an S through it.. until you realize it also forms the P. Very cool 😄

YAY YAY YAY YAY!!

*chicken dance*

Now I'm going to look closer at them... wow.. those pics are small, ya tease! :p

Aren't they "clickable"? I can click them and it opens a window on imageshack... is that just cause they are my pictures?

And thank you both for the kind words. I know it's cause they are mine but when I look at them all I see are the parts where I messed up. Every flaw stands out so bad to me, damn my being a perfectionist.

Thank you though.

I use mineral spirits or some thicker smelly stuff to thin out the paint. That's the medium right?

I did take art in college but just to fill credit hours. I don't know the terms. I don't know the "right way" to do any of this stuff. I don't know the difference between brushes. Oh and I paint on wet paint... evidently you aren't supposed to do that?

But it's fun anyway 🙂

Oils then with a floating medium? I don't think art is the 'right way' personally, I think it's what moves you as you put brush to canvas. Wood, fabric, clay, whatever calls to you. I like your art. 🙂

I havent been able to paint for a while but here are some drawing i did.

The first two are charcoal.

This one was done by erasing. I used a piece of charcoal to darken the whole paper the erased to bring out the image.

This was just drawn normal. It was a nightie my ex had hanging on the corner of a standing mirror in our room.

This is just pencil. It was drawn from a picture I took on a trip to WA state.
