yes I do this often. the best part is you meet brand new people. you don't know anyone. no one knows you. it's so awesome. I went to nyc with my best friend. we made two friends by going to a club and they're from NJ. I went to nyc alone in June to go visit. the guy now lives in New Orleans and I'm gonna visit him for Halloween. I went to summerset music festival alone to see the weeknd and I met 6 people from Minneapolis and now we're all planning to see each other. it's honestly the best. I've been to Boston and los Angeles and Vegas too. it's so enlightening. traveling makes me feel so free. it's the only time when I feel completely like myself. free. no bounds. no schedules. just the open road and new discoveries. there's no better feeling. I hope to marry a man who also has a longing for travel. I can't go without travel. I travel 6-8 times a year or else I feel too confined.

So has anyone done this?

I don't know why, but this idea has crossed my mind a lot lately..
Sometimes I just want to start from blank in a new place, and discover myself more in some way
And take some books, and write my experiences and thoughts every day.

I'm curious, this might bring up some interesting stories.
Do you mean picking up and living somewhere new?

Or just going on a jaunt, for a few days/weeks?

I like doing things alone. People call me crazy or a loner for it but once you get past the initial awkwardness you want to do more lol. If you think it's scary, start exploring your city on your own and then go from there. I'm not originally a people's person but I've met great people that way and opened doors I never thought I could've opened if I didn't go out my own lonely way to talk to people. I'm grateful to be living in Europe because it shortens the length of the trips lol, but I'm thinking of going to America or Asia sometime soon, on my own or not :p

I'm adjusting to being in a relationship now and I've got the hardest time not forgetting to include him in my adventures, haha. I usually just pack up and leave. Unfortunately he's not the most traveling type, oh well.

I've been to Turkey and Canada on my own. I really enjoyed those two trips. Hopefully, I'll see more places on my own. As a young woman by herself, I've had to hear a lot of warnings. Especially because I didn't travel with a tour group in Turkey. But I couldn't bring myself to join a group. It felt like it wouldn't be striking out on my own independently. If that makes any sense.
