Anyone snowed/iced in?

If not, how did you make it to work/school etc?

We could literally put on Ice skates here in NY.

If you're chilling at home, what are you doing (obviously other than dxp)?

Here in missouri....it was skating rink yesterday with all the sleet we got...today the roads are pretty clear but with freezing temps it will just freeze again. Ive been off work for two days so we'll see how tomorrow goes lol and ive been bored out of my mind lol

Basically my classes at the end of the first week of the new semester were already cancelled. The worst had been the traffic horror stories; on many campus, many of my friends couldn't reach the main town or get off campus for about 5 hours. Basically DC, Maryland, and Norther Virginia had been a shitshow.

Someone else on the Cancer board also said Missouri was snowed in. It's crazy here. We've got it all. Sleet, snow, ice, rain...I was literally gliding down the street. Ha! I made it into work however. Mass transit was scary this morning. It was literally like a scene from that movie with Tom Cruise and the aliens. No one's here and it's boring but the office is warm and I feel snug now that my feet have thawed. LOL.

for goodness sakes....they called a snow emergency.

NOPE...not my employer. he came to my house and picked my ass up.

my subdivision probably won't get plowed until tomorrow and my little elantra is going nowhere.

they will be driving me home in about 20 minutes. big waste of money if you ask me. there was a whole three people and nothing to do. I even covered phones and with the exception of a few empolyees calling for status....there wasn't even one call from a customer.

You know, some of these companies are a trip. For real. Took the no drive advisory serious this time? Yeah, whatever. LOL. I understand that businesses still have to run but sometimes these employers can just be downright ridiculous. My friend told me that her company told its employees that if they take the day off, they have to be out the following day as well. Huh!

On another note, how's everything with Mr. C? If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine. *winks*

Oh absolutely. Not a good time to be out of a job right now and people are doing whatever they can to get to work.

As for Mr. C....so you told him off? Well good for you! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Hmmph!...that might keep him in his shell just a bit longer now or it may just do the opposite. Sounds like he's a real grumpy one. They can be really great for us but sometimes the back and forth just gets to be too much.

Damn, why didn't I get that? If there's anyone who could out-work a Virgo, it's got to be a Taurus or Capricorn. The last Taurus I worked for was insane. His work ethic that is. He ruled that office with an iron fist and everyone got the hell out of the way when he came around. Funny however, his co-manager was also a Taurus but just the opposite. Ah well.

Indiana...would love to get back there. I was in the area where Goshen College is. Kind of cozy and quaint there. 3am nightlife...loves it. Nothing crazy though. Just more like relaxing in a nice place with good drinks and food.

Lol virginia doesn't know how to handle snow because we're not a state that gets a shit ton of it. But the problem hadn't been the snow, it had been the ice. There was like a two inch thick sheet of ice covered by snow on the roads, and we havea lot of back roads in some parts of Fairfax county. My school has a lot of commuters so if half of the student body or professors can't make it, they close the school. I live outside of Washington DC currently where I attend college; it's like 5 hours from NY.

No, it's not mean. Nobody wants to put up with that shit every minute. Once he starts to notice you not giving a damn anymore, he'll come around.

Yeah, I know how Virginia do. I have tons of friends who went to E.M.U. Very hot there in the Summertime. We couldn't stay out of Ihop and the cineplex. 😉 The roads can be extremely nice for walking during the Summer nights...ahhh, brings back such good memories.

Lol I read you sentence wrong and thought you said that you had friends who went to EMU in va, and I was goign to be like, "but we don't have EMU." lol Yeah our summers can be really hot; and our winters (depending on what part of virginia you're at) can be really cold. VA has really odd weather in general, but it's not a bad state haha. Where in VA did you go to?

I'm in Chicago....we got 20 inches from 2PM Tuesday 'til sometime this morning. I went out for a smoke last night & had to stand between the storm door & the front door. It looked like a snow desert outside, 40 mph winds, w/ THUNDER & LIGHTNING. I wish I took some footage 'cuz lightning in a snowstorm looks crazy. It took me 3.5 hours to shovel the driveway today, being waist-deep in all of that yey. I'm a lil peeved that my work cancelled everyone today; can't afford to have a smaller check.

Here in Kennedy Country,I shovelled most of the roof off.Tomorrow,I will pull rest from edges with the roof rake.

I went to EMU. LOL. I was there with a traveling drama troupe who did performances for the Mennonite community. It was also one of my schools of choice for College (I attended a Mennonite church for many years) but then I just decided to stay in

You know I have never shoveled a day in my life. I want to though. Wanna know what it feels like. I thought about going to Home Depot and purchasing a damn good shovel and going around to an elderly neighbor and asking if they need some help. Everyday. It is always funny seeing peeps who don't have the slightest clue to deal with winter. xD

It can be stressful trying to brave the elements. Mother Nature's acting like a scorned woman this Winter. I knew we would have a 'true Winter' however.

I really wish there were more time given for what we already have on the ground to melt before more gets piled atop it.

I know. The sun is out today so hopefully that will help a bit. Weather reports haven't said anything of any upcoming storms so hopefully we can get rid of all this if/before there is a next one.

Do you remember that we had virtually no snow for a few years in a row? Not even for x-mas. I believe it was somewhere between the span of 2002-2008...or something like that. Now it feels like Mother Nature has taken all that snow that she didn't give us those couple of years and suddenly decided to dump it all over us this year.
