Do Virgo's test you, and why?...

I am interested in a Virgo man, and we have become friends...We have been talking for a year now...However, I have notice a distance in him...I've tried to reach out, sometimes he responds, but most times not...I have learned though that he needs his space, and I respect that...As I love my own personal space as well...However, I have just heard from him over the holiday, and prior not since Sept...Now he is in hiding again...I don't know if I said something to him to make him distance or not...He does not answer questions...I feel like I'm being tested...As I know he needs time to consider if he wants to take this to a dating relationship...He is a part time student, as well as working full time...I know he has a lot on his plate now, so I do not push him for anything more...My question is do you guys test, and why?...What extents will you go to to test a person?...I told him that I had the patience of Job...Guess he is testing my patience...LOL...BTW, I am a cancer...Also his moon is in Cancer, as well as his Venus...Extremely sensitive man...

Just to reply the question from the title: No, we don't. The only test if you want to see it like that is you showing consistency in being real. We're pretty gullible so we need to see consistency on a long enough timeline, as a measure of integrity. Won't set up situations for you to prove yourself or lead with words to test a reaction..we'll just fall back and observe you.

As for the rest of the post..I can't say more because I don't even know what you guys are? Friends? As far as I can tell..you two might just be acquaintances and you might be pining your dreams on some guy who barely knows you exist.

Yes, we are friends...We met last year in person...Very attentive man...He said he would like to date, but then went into hiding...That was Sept...I've not heard from him until the holiday...I have been as consistent as he would possibly let me be...He told me that he love me, and I believed him...I could see it in his eye...However he was hurt in his prior marriage, and told me he had trust issues...So as far as I know, I have been very consistent with him...I noticed that once he told me he loved me, he disappeared...

The last line from Damnata's post is very apt. Careful who you pin your dreams on as that person may not be on the same page as you are and quite possibly they might be in a completely different book in an entirely different library!!

After reading your post, I found it rather strange that you would allude to the fact that a man that you're clearly not in a relationship with, or dating exclusively, or even considered for a future possibility was testing you.

I believe that you're reading more into something that isn't there.

The two of you are clearly just friends. Nothing more.

I don't believe he looked deep into your eyes and told you he loved you either.

This is a little too over-romanticized for a Virgo who has no longevity or investment in a woman he hasn't been exclusive with.

I believe, somehow, you read into a potential relationship with this man, saw that he was deeply wounded from previous relationships, sought a desire to change his negative thought process about women, maybe the 'chase' or 'adrenaline' rush, believing that you can change him, you're a Cancer, you're nurturing, so you believed in your heart that you would be able to make this possible.

...And then created a pseudo-blossoming relationship in your mind that never really existed.

I never "test". I "analyze". I'm pretty straight forward and despise games. Testing involves too much effort, dishonesty and headaches. I prefer to quietely observe you over time and come to a conclusion based on your consistency or lack thereof. I don't trust easily but I have a lot of Scorpio in my chart so that might be why.
