I need your advice Virgo people!!

First of all excuse my english. But i need to post this in other than my own language...!
8 months ago I met this Virgo. Since the day we met he started hunting me big style . At the moment i didn't even like him, but then he was so persistent that I started to notice him.
We always looked for each other when we were with friends and we waited for everybody to leave so we could be just the two of us.
At one point I told him that I liked him and he said that he liked me too. I wanted to get to know him better but he just doesn't let me.
Now things have changed, we can't see each other so often, but when we do he used to tell me " You should call me to go somewhere"..but he never does. He never calls , he never text me and he never comes to visit me ( he works next door).
In the beginning we were flirting a lot in front of all our common friends, but then I think he didin't like it in front of everybody and me neither. So our behaviour changed , and in front of people I think we feel uncomfortable, at least I do and i can sense he is not comfy neither. Is like showing " I have nothing to do with you".
But then a couple of times I asked him out away from the village, he accepted and it was wonderful. He opened up more. We both are very cautious and go soooo slowly. As he works at the bar next door sometimes I visit him, and there he is dead nice to me ( but then in this situation he is obliged, as a barman he needs to treat me ( everybody) nicely and specially in front of everybody). But then lately he just doesnt come close to me when we meet at any other bar, but he keeps controlling everything I do. If I change seats he will reposition himself aswell so he can see me, but he wont come near me. For a while i thought he just wanted me to approach him, but now i think im making up excuses because I want him so badly, that I think Im twisting the reality.
Usually I never go out at night because of work, but last night I was at my bar, he saw me through the window but he went to the bar in front. When he left that bar he just waved at me with a big smile from outside and went away.
His actions tell me that he is not interested in me , just playing, although last month I told him not to play with me, and he said he wasnt.
But then again,he knows where i am, I cannot fully dissapear to know if he has some interest in me or not as we both live in a very small village.

From what I read, it sounds like he's interested, but being gaurded for some reason.

What is your sign? Are you okay with asking him out? If you say you get along very well (are more comfortable with each other) one-on-one, how would you feel about asking him out?

Once he asked me if I was in love with him, and my answer was that I liked him but to fall in love with someone first i need to know him very well, and this wasnt the case. He said " please dont fall in love with me, Im not a good guy and bla bla bla", but he is working really hard to make me fall in love with him. He is extracharming with me, and he is doing things he knows i Looove and most of all he is giving me hope in many ways.
For ex, he always talks about the future as "us",he always plans things together, but then is just cheap talk.

I didnt discuss this with many people,just 4. 2 girlfriends are telling me to forget about him, he obviously is not interested in me. And 2 boyfriens , both virguys, are telling me to be patient. They say that by watching me so closely he is scanning me and that doesnt mean that he is not interested.
Deep in my heart I sense the girls are right, but who knows, this is a weird cookie this virgo.
What do you think? And if he lost interest, how do you think I can get his attention back?

Yeah, it sounds like he's being gaurded. Sounds like he is interested, but just holding you at arms length for some strange reason. Listen to your Virguy friends--and, as I said up above, if you're an aggressive sign, no harm in asking him out to lunch/dinner, etc.

Every time I asked him out he accepted and it was great ( for me) his answer is ..." it was ok yeah". But the following week I invited him again ( as he always pays for everything , i wanted to pay a meal for him) and he said he was busy.
I think this guy may feel that once a week is too much for him. Actually we see each other one-to-one every month or two.Less than that he would feel ( i dont know the word in english) but like " is tooo much"

Hm...maybe standing back and a bit and (I know it's annoying, but it sounds needed) taking a "wait-and-see" attitude will help. See if he seeks you out.

Thank you CLCNY30. Sometimes I??ve tried that, but I end up visiting him for a quick coffee. Whenever I do that I can see that he is really happy to see me, he starts laughing without reason, his eyes light up, and he asks me thousands of questions, but next day....back to reality.

I??ll have to try harder and see if he comes. What a nightmare!!

You say you live in a small village, culturally would their be some taboo or family issue playing into his behavior in regards to dating you that you have not mentioned?

No, we live there just because we work there but our families live 15 kms away from that village. The thing about villages is that they are very nosy, and I hate gossips, and apparently he hates it aswell. Sometimes he kisses me goodbye before entering the village so nobody can see us.
I think it could be, because he may be seen with other girls aswell and because working in the most known bar of the village..he kind of need to keep " his image"...
