Money to me is one of the biggest factors of my anxiety problems; honestly, I hate money. It isn't just a thing about, "oh, I'm low on cash, no shopping for me." It's also not about me wanting to be rich or some kind of millionaire. I feel that if I don't have a balanced and consistent amount of money, something bad is going to happen and there will be a cataclysmic domino affect sort of thing. I've been known to hoard my money, but in spur of the moments, splurge it after saving up; so I can also be an impulsive shopper (not compulsive) sometimes. I tend to buy things I know I don't need, but at the moment, feel I do. So, whenever I start to become low on money, I start to panic and I become very strict about what I can and can't buy. While my case may be a little more extreme and personal, I was curious to know how other virgos (and people in general) felt about money.

Generally, I am the same, I save my money to purchase multicolored t-shirts with cartoon figures or I blow all my cash on music and decorations for my house that stick out to me. I have an entire room dedicated to music, writing, and projects, but i need to remember to keep from wanting too many things at once because i spend half my check on that, and the other half on fine foods which is also bad. But being a virgo, I do this 1/4 of the time as compared to everyone else i know.

Lol! Well, that probably explains why I'm always buying shoes online. So, if you're venus in penis, am I venus in vagina? V FOR VAGINA?

I'm not sure about that, Candeh. I'd have to take a look at your Venus and see how many degrees it's at, and then it might be called Venus in Vagina, and if so, then your vagina would conjunct my tongue.

Well, my venus is at 16.11 degrees. Good enough for you? 😉

I'm horrible at saving money, for obvious reasons, but when I did save money it was never enough. If I had x amount, then I wanted more saved, and once I got that amount saved I wanted more. I was never secure with saving x amount of cash.

I feel the same way. I never feel like its enough, even when I've saved up a bunch. I have to have more to feel secure, to know that the money I have isn't going to disappear anytime soon. The smaller the amount, the more anxious and upset I become. Even if I never spent frivolously, I become more upset with each purchase I make.

Make more money.

Manage your money better.

GG.

lol.

My job (and I'm thinking of looking for another, but I'm a full-time student, so it's a little hard at the moment) pays alright, but nothing spectacular.

I manage my money quite well, or at least I've gotten a lot better at it. It doesn't stop me from being anxious. It's more of an anxiety problem and an irrational fear than actually being bad with money.

Candeh, I am very good with money and probably still have the first dollar I ever made. I don't spend friviliously, nor impulsively, I budget .. very conservative. Checkbook and all accounts balanced regularly.

My Virgo husband, though, is very similar ... he has little control over money, and will also fret about spending, while spending it on things he doesn't need.

I think a lot of my anxieties also stem from being among the 20-something full time college students who are constantly told their is no future form them at this time. lol

How is that relevant to this topic?

The fact that the state of our economy discourages people from having security in their future, has no bearing on you being an impulsive spender, based on this being a condition of your Virgoness.

Every person at this moment is at risk of having a ruined future because of our economy .. the stress of a college student doesn't supercede the stress of a family with no food on their table.

do you get to eat everyday? who pays for your food? If you are a full time student and you pay for yourself, then that means you already make way more money than most people.

You made the claim that it's because of being Virgo, that you aren't finanically sound in your spending decisions, and that you allow your emotions to take control of you based off of the materials in life.

It doesnt' matter if you have no money .. what matters is that you have your life.

It doesn't matter whether or not you wear expensive shoes .. what matters is that you have feet.

Thank you for the correction. I've been doing that randomly, lately. And virgo or not, I probably would have wanted to slap myself for doing it.

And this thread was mainly just to see how other virgos (and non virgos) felt about money and dealt with money. I never said being a virgo causes me to be this way. In my first post, I stated that my reasons could probably be more extreme and personal. I actually own nothing that one would consider expensive. I'm really strict and I don't like to spend my money on anything that is above 40 or 50 dollars. A lot of my impulsive buying is on small items that I believe I need at

The question was in place to see if other virgos can relate to you because if this wasn't the case then it would have been worded differently and it would have been on a different board. Because it is on Virgo board = you were looking for responses from Virgos.

And they all agreed with you, as did I when referencing my Virgo husband.

His view of money as it is relative to life, as well as all of yours, according to the things you write ... is horrible. He is notorious for putting value on money that has absolutely no value.

Here's an example: We went to an event that we really wanted to go to a week ago. It's an annual thing that they've been doing since we've been alive (longer) and it's a history thing, and he loves history and he has always wanted to go. Last week, I said let's go. We went, we had a great time, enjoyed every second, and as we were pulling out of the parking lot he said ...

"We should have saved our money and stood outside of the fence and watched."

It's a guilt he must have experienced after-the-fact, for spending the money to watch the show ... eventhough while he was experiencing it, he loved life at that moment.

It doesnt' matter how cheap of things you buy, Candeh .. you can't use that as a justification if the experience of life is over, in which influenced you to buy something because it made you happy .... is something you resent in yourself for doing.

Because then you are just wasting space in this world and should aside to let people to occupy your space who will actually cherish the experience.

It doesn't matter how much your shoes cost ... it matters that you have feet.

I actually did think about putting this topic in the general section but defaulted to here. I was going to do it later, but never got to it. Not saying I probably didn't wanted to relate on some level, but I did think of it as generally as well.

P, what would be your take on money, spending it because you want to, but being told you shouldn't?

For example, before my 20th birthday I was on the phone with my mother talking about things (it wasn't a happy conversation). Before it ended, I asked her if I could buy colored contacts for my birthday. She just kind of paused and inquired why, so when I told her because I had been wanting them for several months and figured it wold be best to wait, she hesitated again. She said, if I wanted, but she had an undertone of, "You should really think about this before doing it." I brought it up again when I told her I was going to set up for an eye appointment (I have terrible vision and need my glasses fixed) and once again mentioned the colored contacts. She sounded a little exasperated now and told me that I probably didn't need them and should consider something else (before, she got on me about what color I'd get ect, kind of her way of weaning me off the idea). I had to convince her that the contacts would be the same price as any box online where we usually buy them and that I'd save up for it. However, I have these conflicting thoughts because my mother is always going on about how I need to save money, and even though I do, she often makes me feel like I spend like I have tons of it.

Candeh: "I tend to buy things I know I don't need, but at the moment, feel I do."

Do you suppose that your mother knows this about you?

If you end up not liking your contacts in the end, then is your mother going to have to put out more money so you can get glasses fixed?

I am talking about financially responsible people who have mortgages, hungry children and heating bills .... and you are talking about how you resent not being able to spend someone elses money on what you want .... and you think you are stressed?

You think you have reason to worry if your savings drops under a certain amount, while there are real people out there losing their jobs and they have hungry children to feed and elderly parents who need medicine to stay alive, Candeh.

You don't have financial worries .... you're still feeding on your mothers breast.

My mother can see everything I buy, btw. The majority of my money, a lot of it earned, some given, is spent on groceries. She knows this. I can see where you are going, and while I take a lot of what you say to heart, but this isn't about me feeling upset over things I can't get because I don't have someone's money. About the contacts, I need to get my glasses adjusted regardless and the prescription updated because I can't see well out of them anymore. I mentioned that the contacts I would get from my own money from work. I was never going to get the contacts without consulting an optometrist first and I wanted to consult her first.

And I asked that question because I wasn't sure whether you talking about in general or your husband. But now that you clarified, I see where you are going.

Hey Candeh,

Your concerns regarding money are easily seen by all that earth in your chart. just having a virgo sun and ascendant would make money an area of anxiety for you, but you also have your saturn in capricorn and that plays a huge part. our saturn sign represents how we get security and feel secure. so in capricorn, security comes through material gains. on top of that you have mars in taurus. that is ALOT of earth 🙂 i think it's a good thing. i dont know if you are in a relationship with anyone now but i think a pisces would be a great match for you. i only have one earth sign in my chart and that is a capricorn moon. money means alot to me but my moon is in the second house and i just like to have nice things and money to have at all times.

This was really interesting insight actually, if more from a astrological standpoint.

I never quite understood how some people can easily spend money. I'm always rationing my things, putting things back, making up prices and whatnot in my head whenever I go shopping. I went to Target yesterday to get a couple of things I needed (body wash, cereal, ect) and I only wanted to spend around 20 dollars; I told myself the body wash could wait even though I needed it while I bought conditioner and cereal (mainly for my roommate so that I could pay her back for something). All the while, I saw nail polish that was very cheap (less than a dollar) and I'm obsessed with nail polish; I decided to get the nail polish. So I sort of noticed how I'm rather frugal, but still manage to be kind of impulsive when going shopping only if the items are affordable.
