I did begin to realize that it was useless to make my bed every morning.
I also stopped ironing after a while considering no one noticed that my clothes had a wrinkle or two. I still shower once a day, only because my skin does get a bit oily in certain places,
but on certain nights, say I come back late from a party, from being out, ect, I just hop into bed; I mean, I'm drunk and exhausted, I'm not making it to the shower.
Speaking of clothes, I realized it wasn't very pratical to toss something in the laundry just because I wore it for one day. Wearing one pair of jeans turned into wearing a pair two or three times in the week, but with different shirts. Saves on clothes piling up and detergent.
Being in college, you have to learn how to be efficient, so that does mean throwing out some of those habits that I grew up with.click to expand

usually if a virgo goes all clean-freak (esp the males), it's because other parts of his life are too chaotic, and this is what he can control. if the rest of your life is looking pretty good, you probably won't feel very compelled to clean much. you'll avoid making a mess in the first place, though.

i hate making the bed. as you say, it's not practical. I love showers, but I don't need 6 during the span of 12 hours. As long as my towels are clean, I don't care if they smell like flowers or perfume; just so they do the job.
And all humans on some scale live a pragmatic world. If you don't, you won't get anything accomplished.click to expand

I find myself choosing practicality over more typical "Virgo" things or "perceived Virgo" things.
The following are my examples.
Sure it's nice to have your bed "made" on mornings, but how practical is it?
To me it's a waste of time. It's not like someone is going to hire you based on if you make up your bed or not... and if it's supposed to be attractive to other people, then they are superficial and need to get the hell out.
Sure I would like to bathe, 6 or more times a day, but how practical is that?
It's certainly not green either. So long as you don't have an offensive smell or some kind of nastiness on your body, single to dual baths daily are fine.
Sure it's nice to have freshly done laundry, but how practical is it to iron a cotton shirt every week or worse day?
Not very practical at all.
Just thought I would throw this out there to see how other Virgos justify their overly cleanthly behaviour.
