I made both of these for my local pub. The game ball was totally for butters and giggles and the "Bratender" was a request. Like I said, it's a hobby so I welcome the experience I get from each one, not to mention the free pints.

Both show my biggest weakness, which is working with the icing, the lettering. Having no formal training, I consider icing tips to be the devil. As for the construction and fondant, I get a little better with each one.

What ya think?

wow, gifted!

Fierce mild.

Thanks, V.

Having something else to focus on right now is a good thing.

Vegan, huh? I could prolly tweak some recipes. That's a good idea. Ooh. Gluten free...

Gluten free is good as well. How long does it take to make that soccer cake?

That was the first one I ever made and the least time consuming of the ones pictured. I'd hopefully be faster now, but I'd still estimate about 5 hrs from start to finish, just in case.

I have a baseball one in my head currently. Might do it for the pub if they have a world series party.

With business cards in tow. lol

Right now I'm working out of my kitchen. I have a speakeasy bakery. So to speak.

I like to watch cake shows on the telly. Never been to a live event. Well. Cupcake Wars, but I don't think that counts. My fave to watch is Amazing Wedding Cakes. The old ones have a sister duo from Chicago and a lady and fella from LA that get on like brother and sister... they're the ones I find most entertaining.

Al, your cake would defo hafta be skittles related.

i want a siberian tiger cake. cake and ice cream mix

Thanks for the praise. It's grown up playtime. Arts n crafts with a little chemistry thrown in.

You got me thinking. I'm slowly, but surely building up a small arsenal of supplies. Think I'm gonna save up for an airbrush kit. Be nice to add depth to things. Like animals for instance.

I'm glad it was my idea and not hers cause I didn't pull it off.

When i first heard about this my husband and i were still together and it's right up his alley. Asking for a divorce kinda nixed that. I could figure it out con cord, but really wanted sans. Who wants a cake you hafta plug in!?!

But yeah, you can buy a battery powered doohicky specifically designed for this purpose, but it's expensive and i just couldn't justify it.
