DXP & Aquarius

The general consensus is that Aquarians don't make the easist or most committed partners in romance and relationships. Yet the Aquarius board is the busiest and board on this forum with the highest number of posts. I'm wondering is there a link between the 2 statements of observed fact.

I'm an aqua girly and I find that I have developed somewhat of an addiction to visiting this site on a frequent basis. Yet relationships between myself and men in terms of romance and other people in terms of platonic friendships are not approached by me in the same fixated manner.

Why is this? Well for starters with DXP I can take it or leave it; there isn't any direct or implied pressure for me to make an appearance on here or to tow any particular line that I don't wanna. Then there's the fact that spontaneity is not a factor on DXP: I can take my time to reply or ignore remarks/insults/questions as I choose. And I will still be accepted no matter what I say or don't say; I will still gain access ot the forum and have a right to say my piece regardless of what occured during my last visit. Furthermore I can speak about a topic at length and into real minutiae which I obviously would not be able to do as freely is if I were amoung people in person and adhering to a basic standard of social acceptablity and etiquette.

Basically that can all be summed up by saying that I don't feel there are any expectations or pressures projected on me in DXP Land and this is something that Aquas normally try to avoid with other people. So you could say that DXP indulges the Aquaran's goofy nature and has an endless tolerance for it! Is this healthy? I dunno. But I'd prefer if I could meet a guy who could capture my interest in attention the way DXP is at the moment!

Aguaaqi used the word cathartic about getting thoughts out on DXP and it's kinda apt!

i agree with what you have said mellowdee...but, i think a lot of times aquarians put the idea in their heads that they are to live up to certain expectations when in a relationship...in other words, i think their insecurities come out in that way.
i know that aqua's don't like pressure or confrontation, they are very easy going...very mellow! but as far as expectations go, i think some aqua's feel that they themselves are not good enough, and so they lower their standards.

Yeah but striving to be perfect's gonna put you under undue pressure which will trip you up eventually because no one's perfect.

Moonchild hit the nail on the head. When I even sense that there's some kind of expectation on me I feel uneasy and subconsiously retreat. It's definitely something I should work on for myself anyway.

I agree Vanessa. My standards are waayyy to high.

Expectations => Pressure => Stress => No Fun

No Not at all! I keep hope alive that my expectations will and can be met. Its not much to ask for in my opinion because you only get what you put out in the universe...🙂

I meant aqua's and the expectations that people may place on us is no fun...aquas need "fun".

i said "some aqua's"...and it seems more common in guy aqua's than girl aqua's. the girl aqua's i know hold their standards pretty high! and they are tough cookies...
but still, if your standards are too high, you may also be dissapointed. and if you stress out about it too much and put too much pressure on yourself, you may lose out on the simple meaning of the relationship...
i think a lot of aqua's come off as "cool" and "put together", but really there is a lot of worrying and stress going on in their heads...

i wouldn't necessarily say that cancer and aqua are soulmates...
it is more of a relationship that has many obstacles, but once both people learn to accept and love the other person, differences and all, then it works out. it is not an easy pairing, that is for sure...but, it can work out in the end, and i am hoping that we have finally come to that point with one another

I think kris might be on to something there. I do tend to gel with water signs more than earth signs and enjoy their approaches to different things and concepts even though I cannot actually relate to their perspectives as being similar to my own.

I do like their gentleness of manner and their interests and natural talents in the arts. And I tend to be physically attracted to them quite often as well, although less so with the scorpio contingent 😉

i think opposites attract, therefore, many air signs and water signs are attracted to each other. i don't necessarily think they are soulmates. also, just because they attract each other, doesn't mean they are compatible. i find myself always attracted to air signs or girls that are elusive, wandering, aloof, free-spirited, living in the moment- because i am the complete opposite. i look at the relationship like a balancing scale. If you are extremely on one end, you need a partner on the other end. Its no fun to be with someone just like yourself!
