I was wondering about how other people feel about being called late at night and in the middle of the night, especially on Friday and/or Saturday nights. Sometimes I have this friend who for some reason thinks of calling me then. It's not something they do constantly but it has happened a few times. When I ask why they call so late, they say they wanted to talk to me. I find it disrespectful. At times I haven't answered. Yeah, I could shut my phone off but I think they should have enough respect not to call so late. Am I being too harsh thinking that way?

Mystical:

I think it is extremely rude. I tell people that if you are calling me that late then you better be needing help or are in the hospital because I will be so pissed and not talk to them. I have kids so, they also have a phone cut-off time and if anyone of there friends call after that time then I tell them once not to call after a certain time and if they do it again I hang up on them. It is very disrespectful to do whether it is a weekend or not.

Just my opinion.

Well yeah, this friend does call at times when they are drunk. I really don't know why to call me as I'm only their friend. It just annoys me but then I thought maybe I was being a bit mean. When they call me that late I'm always decent with them. At times I don't answer at all but I can't for the life of me figure out why to call me. They are so pleasant on the phone and everything. I get a bit sad then because I find this person uses alcohol to drown their sorrows. I don't drink myself so I don't understand why this person would call me when they are drunk. I've also asked why call me so late and this person says because they wanted to hear my voice. Whatever that means. Anyway, I'm glad I'm not insane in the way I'm thinking it's disrespectful. I've noticed this person never does it during the week, but sometimes on Friday or Saturday. I talk to this person also during normal hours of the day so it's not that it's always when they are drunk.

Cappy,

Looking forward to your PM.

I just don't get the late night phone calls at all. Then you know what happened early on Sunday morning which pissed me off (sorry for the language) but someone used this persons' cell phone and called me in the middle of the night. I was sleeping but I saw their name in cell phone display so I picked up. They had called me earlier and said they weren't in a good mood at all. Anyway, I'm thinking I'm talking to the person I know, meanwhile it seems like I was also talking to a friend of theirs. It really annoyed the heck out of me. You see, I didn't realize I wasn't only talking to the person I know until the person I was talking to (which I think is a friend of theirs) gave me their cell phone number to call. I said I wouldn't call their number what so ever. I mean I was so aggrivated. Then my cell phone rang again at 5.30 in the morning but I refused to answer. I did send a text to my friend saying I didn't understand what had happened in the middle of the night but whoever it was that I was talking to I have no interest in knowing at all. I'm doing a little bit of venting now so I'm sorry. How rude. I can't stand childish games like that.

I don't think it's acceptable to call someone up in the middle of the night unless it's important. It's only slightly more excusable if the person is drunk because they're not totally aware of things then. But still Mystical I don't see why you are so tolerant of this. I have a pisces friend who does not think anything wrong with calling and texting people up in the middle of the night talking sh1t because she was drunk.

I told her not to do this to me because I wouldn't accept it and she didn't do it for a few weeks but then one night she was drunk and annoyed with me and decided to text me at 4:30am waking me up and I was late for work the next day because I culdn't get back to sleep for ages. I was so angry with her and I told her she was inconsiderate and disrespectful and was a bitch to do this to me. She didn't even apologise! She is the stereotype of the "victim". She blames everyone for her being the way she is. She says she finds people so hurtful and it really upsets her when people are angry with her like me. I told her that if she had any consideration she wouldn't wake me up like that. We haven't spoken since this and even though she is a nice person in other ways I just won't tolerate people doing that.

Anyway people who think it's ok to call someone in the early hours of the morning for no particular reason when they know they have work the next day, are not worth associating with because by doing this they are demonstrating how little they care about the person they are bothering.

"maybe you gave her the impression that you were going to be there for her, but then she calls you at 4:00 in the morning. did you ever tell her NOT to call you at 4 in the morning?"

No as I said before I told her I wouldn't accept this. She is simply inconsiderate. She just drinks wine and stays up all night and then makes excuses about everything she does or doesn't do. She is a nice and entertaining perosn in other ways so that is how I had to re-evaluate our friendship. I'd still be hanging out with her if she had ackowledged she was out of order then but she didn't.

I cared enough to not listen to the bull she says all the time and tell her she has a drink problem. I can't help her beyond that nor do I want to. A alcoholic can only help themselves once they acknowledge they have a problem. Anyway I don't need that kind of a friendship. I have enough of my own issues to contend with.

But the point I'm making is that it is not acceptable to call or text someone in the middle of the night unless you know for a fact this person is easy going and doesn't mind that kind of thing.

I refer to the phenomenon that is people taking dumps in changing rooms of clothes stores. I only heard about this recently but apparently it's a common occurence. I'm just wondering why some people do this and what is their motivation and <

Has anyone experienced an epiphany at some point in their life? (and well, I don't mean in the sense of three wise men showing up at your door, though wouldn't that be every women's idea of a divine manifestation..lol. I mean in the sense of a very sudden
