We dated for a year.... Three years ago. He always pops back up wanting to have another go every so often. I think it's strange.

My Aqua ex is the hot and cold guy. First he reaches out but is still cool towards me, then he's hot then cold again, then hot and cold the he turns it up a notch and he's hot lava then subzero, hot lava, subzero etc.. Then he finally professes all the gooey insides of himself and wanting to share a life with me then disappears without a trace and I don't exist.. Strange men indeed..

You shouldn't be communicating with him at all given his confessions and the fact he has a girlfriend. You do realize you're the potential "other woman" here, right? You're better off deleting his number, blocking him on social media, etc. and being done with it.

I think your ex stills loves you. The disappearing thing is all about rebooting himself. The moment he hears that he loves you then he don't have to work out for that but at the same time he will be very happy thinking you loves him. He can be cold but that doesn't mean he doesn't love you. He needs mind stimulation more than emotional connection. Very less people can deal with him on that.
