My friend just told me her Aqua brother got curious about homeless people. He wanted to see what their life was like and learn what their stories were. So, he disappeared for three days and lived downtown with them during that time. That's pretty brave! I think now he's looking into the various projects/programs the city has in place to see whats needed.

So, would any of you do anything like that?

THe non fiction book "into the wild" and also made into a movie. Talks about one many who did something similar gave and donated his money, disconnected himself from family, everything. His name Christopher McCandless FEBRUARY 12TH -AQUARIUS

my husband and i saw that film, with my mother in law. the only thing that stood out with that film (hmmm don't wanna give away spoilers) but, preparedness is essential. a must!

went to look up his chart:

aquarius sun,(humanitarian and inquisitive about the world around him)
moon leo (he is very brave indeed, and proud ect)
jupiter virgo (his love of nature, details and wonderment of the wilderness ect)
mars pisces (love this placement, but loads of astrologers say a lot on this)
venus cap (exalted in mars, in a love placement, he's not afraid of anything, yet ironically shy)

tiny spoilers:
-----------------

if only he had prepared properly, it was way too tragic.

Yes I definitely would do this. When I got kicked out of my house and was kind of homeless I thought a lot of what homeless people feel like and experience. I ended up walking over to the next town through train tracks and wilderness, then back when I got accepted home a week later. I did it just for the experience to see what it's like to live that life style . My friends think i am such a hippie now the older I get 😛

i forget to answer, sorry. No way. Sorry, i love my home, family, and my creature comforts.
even if i were single and had no family connections, i would make a family, search one out so i can build a home for us.
the most humanitarian thing i would do, is, what my husband and i do sometimes, give a little bit to the breast cancer institute. not often but only when we can. I really love my home and security.

but i don't knock others for doing things in the world. Look at Angelina jolie, a true humanitarian.

taurus/taurus, gem mars
http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Timothy_Treadwell<BR>
but he went out in the wildnerness. I guess he didnt actually interact with 'people' but he loved NATURE. big theme with taurus placement.

lizabeth rest your research soul haha its labor day weekend! haha yeah i've seen the documentary its pretty disturbing/enlightening. What i got out of it is every aqua shouldn't be so aloof! because of the ending -censored- god daggnabit im just gonna say it "happiness is real when shared" that was the most profound and thought provoking part for me in the movie. Personally, what i got from "into the wild" was that preparation in those extremes essentially doesn't matter at the "END" when one dies, one just dies. Then my brain lead to another profound thought which got me into a serious state is that "nothing is real" nothing. absolutely nothing besides Death. i tied these two themes together and sent me haunting haphazard thoughts before bed. hey i tried to keep the spoilers away but i ..just..can't help it!! hahaha thats the downside to the air placement preparation isn't as important as the need for being uncertain..lOL if it was a virgo they would've planned out every meticulous detail.

I feel that no person can truly feel they are homeless till they really REALLy truly know they have no more family, friends, help. I wouldn't do it because at the back of my mind i know that even if i were to give everything up, i still have options to better my life again "easily". Thats the key word, it would be troublesome and a tedious process but i can have a place to live with family or friends, get a job, i would have to purposely burn my social security card, driver license, passport (all my identity) sell my car, cancel my cell. And let no one know where i was going. let people think i died. That there is no turning back for awhile. Even then, my will to survive would kick in and i would do anything to get back up again.

I could try to educate myself on the reasons for homelessness and the mutltitude of causes and effects. I can read and study the psychological workings of a homeless person. At the end, i will never relate. Why should i even go off for 3 days, 1 week 1 month. Just to prove a valid stance on being homeless? that's just stupid! bahhaa 😛 ONe doesn't need to put themselves in suffering (3 days ) to develop "compassion" for action. How are you going to use that experience? talk to homeless people and tell them that you can relate? can you imagine their facial expressions when one expresses "i was homeless because i put myself there for a couple of weeks i know how its like" i bet you they gonna look at you like your crazy. A lot of them did not have a choice. He went there as a bystander as if he was documenting. thats not true to the idea of it (not to belittle his efforts because it still is courageous to be in a dangerous enviornment)

If i need to isolate myself it would be one for spiritual development...and that doesn't occur in 1-6 months. it takes time..and that right there is the key ingredient. TIME
to do 3 days or even 1 month is just like camping in the woods and documenting bears/wild life/ and learning about survival skills...meanwhile knowing that it will all be over and i'll have my regular life back. try doing it for all your life! then tell me how its like to be homeless.

don't worry about the spoilers, i realised, anyone could wikipedia it or read the summaries for the film and find more info on that than we would ever put together. air placement probably doesn't 'prepare' for things well i suppose. I got the notion that it is similar to the "prodigal son" theme. don't roll your eyes now, but i just love spiritual stuff like that. plus, i grew up religiously so that stuff sticks to me forever. like elmer's glue.
an earth sign probably would have prepared, but in my explanation with timothy treadwell, who is a double earth sign,
moon and sun, plus other different energies, he didn't prepare either did he? So i guess it is situated with a 'virgo' energy. Meticulous to the detail. Right down to bringing a "guide to sleeping under the stars" and packing sprays of misquito repellents. but even with preparation, nothing is ever certain. You can prepare to go underground to prevent your family and yourself from getting blown away from a tornado, or read the news beforehand to check the weather.
still, it's not as tragic or gives more impact to a story, a true story when things are so meticulous, but at least you're safer than when not prepared.

I'm not a fan of doing "crazy" things just out of curiosity. I blame my Cap Mars/Venus :p

Also i don't consider myself a "true" humanitarian. I wouldn't put 1 million of faceless people before those who i love. I try not to think about people who are completely helpless and left to die. I don't like the "fact" that there are people who are fated to die while we keep on with our lives like nothing is happening. It's extremely frustrating. When you save someone you are forsaking 100 other people. It's about all we can do as human beings. We have to protect those who we love and live a honest life so we don't regret it later.

And i don't trust charity organizations. If i decide to help people, then i wanna be right there helping them. But then again i will always put my family first. A true humanitarian must be someone who is brave and selfless, but at the same time someone who is unfeeling and completely detached from other people. It's kinda funny how ironic that sounds.
