LOL, it got my ASC wrong. Its Gemini, but this says Libra.

Well, that is weird :-) Are you sure you filled the form correctly? It could be an error, the page is fresh and not in full run now, we are still testing, fixing errors and adding funcitonality. But often this calculation differences are caused by bad input in the form ... I have a look at it tommorow in the morning.

About that Capricorn to Aquarius: HYS uses Western astrology, the tropical zodiac. Vedic astrology uses the siderial zodiac, there is natural differences between the systems.

Yes but I'm Cap Rising in both Western and Vedic.

Everything else if the same. The House system seems to be off.

The house system is Placidus provided by Swiss ephemerisis, anyway the Asc would be the same in other. I just recalculated some test samples and the results are correct. So, my late night guess is the time zones ... however it's after midnight at my place, too late for me to solve this now.

Thanks for this input and have a nice rest of the day!

Hello :-)

I am calculating different charts of people from Melbourne, NY, LA .. everything is calculated correctly. So far I couldn't replicate any error behaviour ...

I think this differences could be caused by form input. For example if you live in London, USA there is 20 completely different cities by this name. If you choose a wrong one you get different time zone and geo and different Asc. First thing I am doing now is adding coordinates to the autocomplete form, afterwards I try to add states and region names.

Now this pins Saturn as my dominant planet while on Pullen it's not even in my top 3. I officially give up on trying to figure out dominant planets.

This dominant planet calculation is quite thorough, it takes into account exaltations and domiciles, house positions, house rulership, aspects to luminaries and axes. So, most of what an astrologer interpreting a chart in person would take into account.

If you want to see how much points each planet got, this is visible after registration.

Danke. I registered.

Saturn got 18 points. Astro.com calculations (Pullen and Color Horoscope) both give me Uranus as my dominant, here it gets 10 points. I just wonder what exactly do different methods take into account when calculating planetary dominance. *shrug

Nichts zu danken.
Not sure what astro.com is exactly calculating. Many people liked this calculation a lot, and found it more matching to their feelings.
But dominant calculations aside, how you feel it? Would it be Saturn or Uranus?

One more comment to the errors in calculations. I just saw a user filling in the form manually and typing an american city with positive longitude. That results in a wrong calculation. All american cities have western longitude and therefore minus longitudes.

It is best to use the autocomplete form, type "United" and you get a list of countries, choose "United States" and afterwards type the city in the same manner. All geographics and timezone will be filled from a database and you get a correct calculation.

Did the chart.
It listed Saturn in Aquairus as exalted instead of domicile.

Otherwise it looks fantastic. Gives me Uranus as my strongest planet. Pullen gave me Saturn.
Am I more Capricorn or Aquairus? Can I just have 3 way with both?

Love the midpoint section. I'm curious as to why sun/moon midpoint wasn't included.
Over very impressive calculator. Simple declinations and dominant features section is most definitely a stand out with this calculator.

Hello SirHorns,

depending on which school you are used to Saturn will be exalted or domicile in Aquarius. Traditinal astrology gives Aquarius and Capricorn to Saturn. Modern hands Aquarius over to Uranus and leaves Saturn as exalted there. This page follows modern astrology with some cosmobiological influences (midpoints).

About Sun/Moon not beign included. If you birth time is known, just have a look at the aspect grid :-) We think Sun/Moon midpoint is so important it should be in the table with other planets and important personal points.

Thanks for the praise :-) The page is just starting, if you like it now, you will love the comming features.

@YellowSubmarine: I see you online, I am glad you made it. If anybody has issues with the registration or anything, let me know here: horoscopeyourself@gmail.com

@SirHorns: About your question: Capricorn or Aquarius? Why not both? There is people that have no dominant planet, instead they have a mixture. I am one of them. Not everybody is born to fit exactly to an archetype. I know people that have 5 planets in Leo, Asc Leo, Sun at MC .. it's just a Leo, no doubt also in appeareance. But other people have 4 strong planets and none of them is too strong ...

Ok, i think I understand now what you mean. The Sun/Moon midpoint is in the grid with the planets however small squares are not included in the grid, unlike in the section below.

We will add this in the next update of the section. The plan is to add aspect names and interpretations for the dominant features, more aspects and a list of personal points on fixed stars and some more features. The date for this update is not set yet, as the work on the Relationship Horoscope consumes most time now, but I estimate April.

Btw. if somebody looks for midpoint interpetations here is a free online book:
http://johnsandbach.com/?page_id=7243
We are planning to make our own texts available, but that will take some time.

Got mine wrong too. I'm virgo rising and this says leo rising. My moon also scorpio, this says sagittarius moon. Wish I was a sag moon.

Hello VirgoDragirl,
I have seen this a couple of times in the last days, mostly users who entered all data manualy instead of using the autocomplete form. The issue was mostly positive longitude for cities in the western hemisphere (west has negative longitude, east positive).

I recommend using the autocomplete feature. Today I enhanced the form to work similar to astro.com. You just start typing the city and pick the right one, everything else is filled in automatically.

I decided to sign up and see whats up.

Its still cool. Except I still dont see the planetary strengths.

Hello Jynja,

once registered go here: http://www.horoscopeyourself.com/personal_horoscope/
The form will be prefilled, hit the calculate button.
Scroll bellow the Dominant features section to the planet interpretations. There you see in the center "Planet name" and to the right of it planet strength in points.

For example I get this:

Mercury 6 pts
Mercury in Scorpio
—These people are very interested in everything unclear, hidden and taboo. Sharp, conteplating or even scientific mind, a clever and cautious intellect. Critical, sarcastic and provoking spirit used as a weapon. Irony and secretiveness. They are good and refined in negotiating. Either silence or excessive talkativeness. These people dislike changing their mind and it is hard for them to accept the defeat. Sometimes snaky, intriguant and malicious character.

Mercury Harmonic Neptune
—Good judgement of future progress, strategic abilities, clairvoyance, vivid visions, imaginations,

Right, best of luck!
The point system has me curious though.
I got 26pts Uranus
21pts Mercury.
20pts Neptune.

Also, silly fun question, what sign are you and what's your dominant planet? 😄

Well, at Horoscope Yourself we are not using the traditonal astrology point model and the points are not allocated to result in a black&white sort of result. This point model is inspired by Michel Gauquelin's statistical research that revolutionized the whole concept of dominant planets. We feel that it makes lot more sense with Gauquelin.

Btw. I tried Pullen right now and it's not working for me. The strongest planet is OK but the rest doesn't fit much. Especially Uranus. In Pullen has few points and that is not right. Uranus is my Asc ruler, he is in tight conjunction to MC (40'), has a small exact square to Sun and a trine to the Moon. He has to be powerfull. In Pullen he is't. While in reality people guess me as Aquarius.

And to your question. Sun Libra. Moon Leo. Asc Aquarius. Dominant? Not a single planet, I go for dominant couple - Pluto and Uranus, in our scoring it is Pluto (21pts) and Uranus (18pts). I think that fits me a lot. Third planet has just 6 pts and that makes the line for these two to be strongest in my chart.

Dominant Features

Majority of planets in hemisphere: East
Missing element: Air
Emphasized sign quality: Fixed
Emphasized house type: Angular
Many Aspects: Opposition
Missing Aspects: Conjunction
Ascendant in Scorpio
Dominant planet: Venus
Retrograde Mars
Mercury as Prometheus
Venus as Morning Star (Hesperus)
Soli-lunar phase: Crescent Moon

WHAT'S A PROMETHEUS?

MORNING STAR AS I UNDERSTAND IT IS THE "GUIDING PLANET" CONCEPT IN TRADITIONAL ASTROLOGY WHICH IS BASICALLY THE PLANET CLOSEST TO THE SUN.

I REMEMBER BEING A 1ST QUARTER MOON. IS IT SAYING I'M A WAXING CRESCENT MOON?

Hello GENERALIZOD,

this is all terms from 20th cenutry modern astrology, influences like Dane Rudhyar. Prometheus and Hesperus is based on determining if the planet is rising before or after the Sun and it applies only to Mercury and Venus. Here you can read something about Mercury as Prometheus and Ephimeteus:
http://www.khaldea.com/planets/merc_type.shtml
We are planning to replace the keywords with interpretations soon, it's going to be more clearer afterwards. The Moon phases are also inspired by modern astrology and go like this:
New Moon, Crescent Moon, First Quarter Moon, Gibbous Moon,Full Moon,Disseminating Moon, Last Quarter, Balsamic Moon.
