It's not just a sign .. It's the different energies of the signs !! For ex I could not date an aqua as a sun or a moon sign or a Venus in Aquarius . I don't and can't understand the energy! It's too cold an energy ?? !!! So I believe it can make sense to avoid certain signs! Air will not go well with the element of earth it becomes sand!!
I'm glad I don't avoid any signs. I know extremely great people, and complete idiots from each sign.

So, saying or relegating yourself to avoiding people with similar traits in general seems like a logical solution to a hurt heart that is seeking "never to be hurt again". Like, in the midst of a broken heart or love life disappointment says to self, "My oh my...I can't wait to do THIS again. Weeee". No one. Hence the "I'm never going to date a _______ again".
The whole "I'll never date/deal with/talk to" a person with (insert any of the 12 signs here)" mentality.
I mean it's like avoiding every Taurus cause Hilter was one.
Or since ONE sign acted like a spoiled brat, all of the ones sharing the same sign with them must pay the price for their behavior.
Now I can understand logic like:
I'm not looking to date water signs, since I'm not very emotional or emotive, so since they thrive off that, a relationship would likely be difficult and might not last.
OR
I can't date cardinal signs, since they're too restless and have a habit of being controlling one way or another.
While there are water suns that aren't emotionally expressive and dominant in relationships and Cardinals that don't boss anyone around, the general trend for their groups is stated above, so that's why they'll treat people falling into those categories like that.
It's still prejudiced, but honestly since humans are flawed, I'll let it slid. Since they would be stopping possibly great relationships and friends with people that happen to fall into the sign or mode the person doesn't like.
Can someone help me see this in any other ways?

I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to people, first. If I start seeing a trend I can start to predict the type of person they are and behave accordingly.
