Mercury in the eighth house?

How would this affect me emotionally and communication-wise? I've always felt highly emotional, and expressive. And I've been told by a few that my thoughts and feelings are too deep at times, and it can overwhelm some. My moon is also in the twelfth house so that could add to it.
I used to think I was an open person emotionally, but in all actuality I was only open to my compassion for others, my willingness to cry for another person's pain. My empathy can get quite overwhelming, feeling as if I'm taking on a lot of energy.
Truth is, I'm very protective of my own feelings in my relationships in my physical world off the internet lol and can be afraid of vulnerability. So I don't let others gauge me for much, unless I feel I can be safe with them. Then I never shut up lol but would these house placements make sense considering this information?

I'm an astrology noob, but what you describe feels more to me as pisces energy than 8th house merc, so maybe that 12th house moon? But idk.

Oh shit, I was misinformed on a couple websites. Some said it was in the eighth while others said the seventh. Finally, astro.com informed me that my mercury in Taurus is right at the very end of the seventh house. So what the heck does that mean? Does that negate all of my empathetic feelings? lol

What she originally described doesn't fit a 7th house Mercury. Check the aspects instead to see what's going on.

I think it is probably close enough for the 8th house Merc interpretation ...

Haha, I know my question was a bit vague. I suppose you could say I'm trying to pinpoint what exactly makes me have such a strong empathy, emotional woes as well as a need to withdraw? I was wondering if my absorbing energy and feelings these emotions is a water domain trait, pretty much.

Heres my take on mercury 8th house. From what Ive learned mercury is gemini and means wit, conversation. 8th house is scorpio and is passion and sex. Now I put those two together and this is what I get. Your passionate side and sex appeal acts and looks like gem or mercury. Basically pluto in gem as well. Also you like to learn, conversate and your thoughts contain things about your passion as well as sex. Again thats what Ive seen from mercury 8th house people. Everything in astrology is supposed to be great and mercury 8th is pretty cool to me.

I left out 8th house mercury makes passionate side witty and makes you kinds curious about them like gem. So people wont jump to saying gem are so bad, we need them in astrology. Its just my opinion.

I think pluto gem just makes your passion and sex nature(scorpio) act like a gem, witty, basically when your sayin f**k you to someone and your using pluto because of passion it would come of as witty like a gemini. Thats how it would work for mercury 8th house just that youll see it in their appearance when their displaying passion or sex appeal( only for planets in houses). Of course other aspects would add to it like jupiter conj pluto would give a funnier passionate nature.

Merc 9th house means your sense of humor is witty, basically a gem. You probably like talkin about sports and fun stuff. Merc in Cap means the way you conversate( not your voice) is good for the public eye like a Capricorn. Since merc is in 9th house your legs would have a gemini look to them, look like they easily move. Also your facial expressions, legs, arms, ears would have a funny, fun, feel to they( not appear like) just like Sagittarius.

You can have pluto aspect mercury and it will give you mercury scorpio and pluto gemini, yea it depends on the orb. I saw this whole idea of looking at signs this way by looking at lil wayne. I narrowed down his birth time. You can like tell he has say moon 1st house cause he gives off a personality and clear look of comfort, family orientation, all things cancer. He also has mercury progressed in 8th house thats how I came to this conclusion. Look him up on his last tour and look at his passionate nature, to me he looks like a gem and sag there.

Also your only supposed to see appearances from planets and signs in houses. Not planet signs or planet to planet aspects. Thats why they come off very different from each other. Look for everything in astrology in the way they act and not how they appear. How they appear belongs to houses.

Also dont forget what really make up each planet sign. I have jupiter cap in it makes your sense of humor good for the public eye. Honestly theres things we need to work on to get the full benefits of astrology. Its whats making pisces vulnerable and aries sometimes always angry. It shouldn't be like that but you gotta see why we need everything in astrology. We have them for a reason.

Mercury only counts for gemini in birth charts, like an aspect from sun to mercury would give you sun gem and no virgo traits, I saw you meant. Its just like venus in counts for libra and not taurus even though they both own venus

Capricorn is saturn and 10th house. Ive seen astrologers say 10th house is the public eye. I took that info and thought that if jupiter(how you act when having fun, your jokes, teaching) was in cap, it would make your sense of humor, the way you have fun, and teach great for the public because thats capricorns traits. Like I said theres something we all need to work on to stop others from say being too emotional. Some less than others like Lil wayne for example. Thats why you can see the planets he has in his houses better than anyone.

Venus jupiter - Jupiter libra / Venus Sag. Now the only way to have sag hitting taurus is if your rising sign was in Scorpio rising( Sag 2nd) and Virgo rising ( Taurus 9th). Look it up for yourself. Jup libra - Sense of humor, the way you act in fun is smooth, attracts and charming. Venus Sag - Your charm and how you act in one on one situations is fun, funny like Sagittarius. I looked into it, consider this, the feeling you get from say a sun in taurus since it deals with pleasure like eating and sex, Venus aspects dont give me no pleasurable attributes. Like my jupiter doesnt have a taurus feel to it but it does have a libra feel to it.

This is very true; when it comes to the issues of those around me, world issues or anything like that, I can become very sad. Also very angered, that our world is getting worse and worse everyday. Many of us can feel this way. But I can't even watch the news; not for horror stories of how terribly human beings are treating each other, or it will absolutely destroy me for the day. Recent stories of more shootings, children being kidnapped and killed, everything has brought me to tears and added to my depression. I wish I wasn't so affected sometimes, but it can make it harder for me to feel inspired in this world. I almost feel as if I'm sinning, living my normal, comfortable life when th

If it's at the end of a house it also gets interpreted in the next house. So consider both interpretations.

And as for your "empathetic feelings", a chart's a big place and there may be other factors responsible.

Check your Moon aspects (Moon-Merc, if you have any) as well.

I shall; another member has advised me to consider both descriptions as well.

Apparently my Mercury opposing my Pluto can cause that deep empathy, but so can other aspects of my chart. So I will continue to look further into it.

What aspects should I be looking for that would tie the two together?

I feel like I can relate to that, because I've always had a secret interest in the deeper, sexier, dark world of erotica and sex in general. But I do like to keep it under wraps unless I feel I can share that with someone.
