Thank you! That was very informative! I think some of the things I've read about my node placements have some merit, but others I don't identify with at all. But that's probably one of the things that benefits you the most - to look at the things that seem a bit strange or even uncomfortable. Maybe it's just that: strange, but then again,
maybe it isn't and I'll learn something.

South node can also relate to childhood and upbringing, or early conditioning. I'm not completely sold on past lives from a lgi al standpoint, but I don't rule it out.click to expand

@HappyCapper,
I guess modern Astrologers who don't want to believe in reincarnation say SN has to do with early life experiences.
For example an SN in Cap would say that the individual had the feelings of abundnace and materialistic poverty during childhood.

Seems I'm the only one not getting this. You were born with your SN, so how can you have "the feelings of abundnace and materialistic poverty during childhood" when you haven't yet experianced your childhood? Or do you mean that it's not necessarily about the past, but about your early life...meaning that it could even be about the near future for a very young child?click to expand

But look, we have a similar situation with the 3th house placements and aspects. Astrologers say this and that about your relationship with your siblings/neighbors what has to be valid even before the relationship is existent.
If we believe in this I see no room for causality but synchronicity. Meaning: this placement has been often seen together with that kind of relationship (which gets realized later).
To be honest with you, you may not even point at the choice between causality and synchronicity. Fact is we pass the astrological texts to each other without knowing how and why it is right.
Assigning karmic meaning to the lunar nodes. Did this exist in the classical astrology? Or somebody just liked a marriage between astrology and reincarnation?

also my nodes are weird. they're direct and they don't really hit anything in my chart.

Must admit, though, that what I just wrote seems very consistent with my node placements. 😉

I'm so happy for this thread, this is what I have been looking for, for confirmation of my purpose. My NN is in aquarius and my SN is in Leo sun sign Leo as well.
So for the longest I always realized that I got pleasure from doing for others but I couldn't quite figure out if this was my calling. Ever since I found this thread last night I have been researching and I feel confident this is my path

parts of me still keep kicking the other parts of me for even thinking about it as a possibility. But who knows, maybe astrology is my way of dealing with my NN in pisces - fleeing my virgo SN. Kinda makes sense, doesn't it.click to expand

I too like the idea of karmik task. I need to follow more a Cancer path, my NN. It makes sense. For someone who has Stellium in the 1st house it is a good idea to try to nurture others. Enough done for the self.click to expand

I'm just recently getting into the Nodes, which are tied to one's karmic past and destiny. Basically, your North Node indicates where you must grow to fulfill this life's karmic purpose. The South Node sign & house indicate the ways and tendencies that come naturally to you. (Correct my newbie-ness if I'm wrong.)
My South Node sign & house makes perfect sense, as does the house of my NN (what I need to strive for.) My North is Aries in the 6th House (ruled by Virgo, of course) and that places my South in Libra in the 12th (ruler: Pisces.) Being Libra-y comes naturally being my Sun, Asc, & Mercury. I can remember as a small child being deeply concerned with everything being fair for everyone. My Aries mother would of course say, "Too bad. Life's not fair," which infuriated me. I am growing into my Aries NN though. As I get older I find this easier to accept. So that's pretty cool, karmically speaking.
What is a bit surprising but a fun discovery is how much sense it makes that my SN is in 12th house ruled by Pisces. I was the daydreamiest child ever, constantly lost in my mind. I have deep intuition (especially with Moon 8th house & Mercury 12th) but I rarely trust my intuition because I am never entirely sure if my suspicions are something I'm intuitively picking up or if my imagination is running wild again.. I am naturally unorganized but I have a strong appreciation for order and organization. It's something that I constantly work towards, like a hobby. (12th house by nature, constantly striving for 6th house.)
I have come to realize (from dxp mostly) that I am probably more aggressive in general than some Libras. When I was younger I often avoided confrontation but mostly because I don't like to fight unless I have something real good and sharp to say and with Mercury 12th house verbalizing my thoughts can be an issue, especially when angry. As an adult I rarely avoid confrontation unless I feel like the energy I'd expend wouldn't be worth it. Another clue that I am growing into my karmic destiny perhaps? I'm both pleased and slightly concerned by this.. How Aries-like could I possibly be(/come)? My Aries mother drives me bananas a lot of the time.
How strange to have a NN that is entirely polar opposite to the sign that holds the most planets in my chart.
