CANCER Ascendant!

I'm sending some info to a friend about her chart, and she is

a CANCER Ascendant.*

I have nothing but Saturn in Cancer, and I identify with very little

in the descriptions of this sign... so I have no way of knowing whether

the info is good/accurate or not, from a personal standpoint.

For those of you with this lovely placement-- where did you find what

you thought was the BEST description of this placement?

And could you link it, or at least point me in the right direction?

I would grateful. 🙂

* She is Scorp sun, Leeb moon-- would love to hear from those who have

either of these placements, in addition to the Cancer ASC-- but ALL

Depending upon your Sun sign and other factors in your chart, you may or may not feel like others know you or react to who you really are. This is because the persona that others are seeing is one that is dominated by Cancer characteristics.

because even though she has a water Sun and ascendant,

Cancer rising is not lazy. Cancer rising is concerned with what it considers more important in the world and can be so wrapped up in this that they ignore the whole world outside their shell. We just don't give a fuck.

And, how can you provide for your family if you are not working? The most likely thing is that the rising does not believe in rising through the ranks. We will go every which way to bypass several people to reach the top. Cancer rising is sensitive to moods, and coupled with other placements, can manipulate these moods until they favor them.

And, of course, we are drawn to status and power. The Capricorn descendant is the partner. The opposite of homeliness is the social status. A partner with good social standing is a compliment to the peaceful and beautiful home. The American dream.

That doesn't mean we won't work. Fuck that! I take my work seriously and do it to the best of my ability. I consider my accomplishments my children and tend to them with great care.

True, its nice to have a powerful man on the arm, but when he goes to get us some drinks, I'm standing on my own two. Don't be fooled.

Also, much of loving status comes from admiration for the person in power. How did they do it? Because the rising has dealt with many character types in its previous incarnations, anthropology is its forte. We will liase with status to understand how it came to be. I know two, one is my mother, a very impulsive agressive and yet emotional person, and she has borderline. She's an Aries btw.

And one Cancer friend of mine, an extremely confrontational know-it-all, very annoying. He has mercury on his asc.

People forget the Cancer rising person is shy, unsure, somewhat nervous and wrapped in a SHELL. Its tough to crack that shell open, I suppose, so other people see a lazy person eating biscuits when there's an emotional person binge eating her sorrows away.

It can be like that one moment, and the next, the Cancer riser is back up and running. Mood swings are great for working through the emotions quickly and getting back on the horse. The cardinal element means the native is exposed to several options to take. And, cardinality means movement.

I agree that our actions don't always seem rational, but that is because we see the iridescent shadow of things while others see the meaty outer body.

Which brings me back to a partner with status. Another reason we may appear unambitious is because the rising sign likes to tend and nurture. We will nurture potential to its fullest. Also, social status is not always they guy with the big house and being a trophy wife. Sometimes, just being the partner of a world famous junkie or rebel is good too. Besides, we all know nobody enables a person more than a cancer rising. I already mentioned sensing moods and, with favorable placements, manipulating them, right?

Its a good thing we are not moved to be in the spotlight then. Better our partners than us. And, really, its not an important thing for most cancer risers. What would we be saying to people anyway?

My boo has a cancer rising and the one thing I notice he and others with cancer rising have in common is having a kind of familiarity about them...kind approachable faces...they make you feel at ease.

I wouldn't say they're all shy...depends on other placements...selective maybe.

They do like to take care of things and "their people."

Also, prone to laziness from time to time I can definitely see, especially when they aren't feeling challenged or motivated...but far from unambitious. In fact the few I know are quite ambitious

Ey, my mom's borderline too. Siblings of circumstance. She has cancer in her chart too, but only the sun, no asc.

Well it's true with cancer rising I'm just more intriguing with my emotions. I can love hard, or detach harder...I'm shy and reserved. I like staying home. I love security..love all that mushy stuff that's a nice feeling. I can be critical and honest. I can make friends easy but also not like you and just ignore you too...

It's my sun sign that actually sounds like I'm a cancer but I'm a Taurus stellium female..so often see traits that are similar to my perspective of a person..mainly myself..all that passion I have to offer..

Yeah BD- I have a lot of Passion and Love to give, but will keep it in. I'm still stubborn ya know giving a piece of me haha..

I have cancer rising so I also get moody, withdrawn and if my Aquarius moon comes out the same day.. I'm unstable, get depressed, and distance myself. I do it at work too..I'll go smoke somewhere else if I don't want to bother...

It's hopelessly hopeful at times..if that makes sense. That I need the same thing in someone else...I keep my heart on my sleeve. I keep my eyes half way squinted on you.. secretly.. to peep you out..I am cautious for real.

Of course if you're sexy, oh boy...that's a conquer my conquest type of thing. I might get swept easily, possibly readily available to open up...

That's the down side of CR, because I am a Taurus haha. Is that sensitive crap. Imagine strong, tall, alluring, great sarcasm and a bunch of people you draw to you without saying anything..
