I have been pondering about this for quite a while now. I see some observations based on actual leaders that came to prominence in the past. My assessments are not based on numbers or statistics, but on certain qualities these leaders have. I believe that the best way to assess a sign's leadership prowess is not through the process of tabulating or collecting data but through the process of drawing out the qualities that make them the kind of leader that they are.

Revolutionary & Charismatic Leaders

Dominated by Water Signs. Among them are George Washington (Pisces, Feb 22), Nelson Mandela (Cancer, July 18), Princess Diana (Cancer, July 1)

Presidents & Democratic Leaders

Dominated by Aquarius: Abraham Lincoln (Feb 9), Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Jan 30), Ronald Reagan (Feb 6)

Monarchs

Dominated by Earth Signs. Queen Elizabeth the Great (Virgo, Sept 7), King Louis the Great "Sun King" (Virgo, Sept 5), Queen Catherine the Great (Taurus, May 2), King Richard the Lionheart (Virgo, Sept 8), Queen Elizabeth II (Taurus, Apr 20)

Dictators

Dominated by Taurus.

Gemini: I have no knowledge of any great Gemini leader. Even in my personal history, there seems to be very few Geminis to have been elected to lead. There's one Gemini monarch, though, that is very popular. Her name is Queen Victoria (May 24). However, her husband, Prince Albert seemed to have a hand in the successes of the first half of her reign. Without her husband, Queen Victoria could've led Britain in a rather very different manner. It was him who instilled in Queen Victoria some discipline and hard work that gave "form" to her manner of leading her kingdom.

Virgo: As a mutable sign, Virgos are not usually expected to lead. In fact, there are very few Virgos that became prominent leaders in history. However, the Second Decante Virgos dominate the list of the greatest monarchs: Queen Elizabeth the Great, the Sun King, and King Richard the Lionheart. Astrology describes 2nd decante Virgos as gifted with natural leadership skills and talents. Meanwhile, First Decante Virgos seem to do well in tandem with another great leader. Examples are Jean Baptiste Colbert (Aug 29), France's Finance Minister during the reign of the Sun King, and Prince Albert (Aug 26), the husband of the dame Queen Victoria. Both of these Virgos have been instrumental in the successful reigns of the monarchs that they worked with. Also, both of them died due to hard work.

Libra: cardinal sign and therefore, good leaders, according to astrology. I can't make an assessment on them though as I don't see patterns/similarities among Libra leaders. However, I can cite two examples of great Libra leaders: Mahatma Gandhi (Oct 2) and Margaret Thatcher (Oct 13).

There's no fixed standard in determining the prominence of a certain leader. It depends on his reputation though. If he's very well-known, or known to most people, including lay people, they qualify as "very prominent." Also, prominence is not the only factor for one to qualify, there has to be at least another person of the same sign or of the same element that possesses the same or similar characteristics in order for me to conclude that there is indeed a pattern.

Exceptions to prominence may be accepted, however, such as when the person is not too prominent but was actually the very "reason" behind the successes of another leader. For example, the two 1st Decante Virgos in the list were included not because of their prominence but because of the sheer magnitude of their competence, that without them, the leaders that are attached to them would have not risen to prominence.

Other exceptions would be included as this discussion would go on and as further insights are added.

As far as presidents go...
Aquarius
Pisces
Scorpio
Taurus
Leo

Are the most frequent signs elected.

Aquarius and Scorpio enjoy having the most presidents elected with 5 each. Pisces,Taurus, and Leo have 4 each.
However, there is a striking difference amongst these leaders...

Aquarius and Pisces have won the most elections overall.

Aquarius 11
Pisces 8

What I find slightly Ironic is these are the two signs least likely to try and lead ^.^? At least by what astrology would say.

to all the people naming royalties and descendants of greats...... why do you include those people? They are simply lucky to be born into their bloodline and last name.

they did nothing to achieve it.

it's almost 90% luck. big deal.

the original dynasty builders, kingdom builders and rags to riches people are the truly interesting.

following your line of argument, i would've included all royalties of all countries in my list. but no. what is clear is that, only those who became very prominent are included. i do not understand why some people can discriminate against royalties just because they became leaders through blood and heritage. what remains to be relevant in this discussion is the manner of "leading," and not the manner of "succeeding."

mutable signs usually do not initiate, and therefore would have the least likelihood to become leaders, especially now that democracy is the prevailing political system across the world. but it does not necessarily mean that just because you are a mutable person, you are no longer capable of becoming a great leader, and this was proven otherwise by a good number of Virgos who turned out to be the greatest monarchs of all time.

also, unlike the past threads you've created, this discussion involves a deeper analysis of the characteristics of leaders. statistics are thrown out the window and a focus on understanding the sun signs and their capabilities are hoped to be drawn out. nevertheless, i still thank you for asking that question because that issue needs to be clarified and understood. what i'm pointing out is that great leaders are great leaders, regardless of their manner of succession. i hope this becomes a resounding precedent to succeeding discussions on leadership.

you are not a cat lady astrologer. you are a statistics-specific astrologer. you depend too much on numbers without seeking the stories behind and underneath. you do not analyze deeply. after all, you just don't have the brains... oh wait, you have the brains indeed. i was like you when i was 19. 😉

Bunny,

I have a friend who wrote a blog about a study she did on influential men and their sun and moon signs,
she's compiled quite a list and also broke down the sun and moon by graph.

Here is a link if you want to check it out.

Influential Men in History: A Statistical and Astrological Study

She's working on women next. 🙂

Thank you so much for this. 🙂 Will get back on this when I finally have more time to read through all these. 🙂
